Floating EKA it’s a Cultural Initiatives Foundation. Our mission is to create meaningful and productive relationships between artists, cultural organizations, and communities in the Baltic Sea Region to address social and environmental issues and work together toward common goals.

We believe that culture and the arts are ideal tools to talk abo

ut such complex topics as environmental issues, peaceful society, tolerance. We also believe that creativity is the driving force behind the development of society. Floating EKA exists to increase the numbers of creative people in the world, help form the links between artists and communities, contribute to changing faces of the cities through culture and art, help people become closer to each other, initiate conversations on problematic issues so we can unite and respond to challenges together.

How do the artists and activists of Astana reflect on the dramatic changes in the urban and natural landscapes? Can the residents of Kazakhstan’s capital city reclaim their right to the city and their right to memory?

Temirtas Iskakov, an architect, researcher, cultural activist, and curator from Astana tried to answer these questions in his public talk "Unnoticed War: Identity, Community, and Collective Memory in Astana."

This event took place as part of the I Inherit What You Lost exhibition in Prague.

Dear friends, the exhibition I Inherit What You Lost is coming soon to Prague!

Join us for the opening on June 29th at 7:00 PM at Artivist Lab at Hybernská 998/4, Prague.

💥Important! As part of the exhibition, there will be a public talk "UNNOTICED WAR: IDENTITY, COMMUNITY, AND COLLECTIVE MEMORY IN ASTANA" by Temirtas Iskakov an architect, researcher, cultural activist, and curator from Astana, Kazakhstan.

Please note that the time of the event has changed! The Public Talk will now take place on June 1st at 6:00 PM at Artivist Lab.

Join us for a series of events dedicated to the theme of dissonant heritage, inheritance, and loss.

What?
🔸Exhibition of artworks by artists from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kaliningrad, Tatarstan, Chechnya and North Ossetia. The exhibition will present artistic reflections responding to the complex history via architecture; buildings, monuments, and urban elements, with historical links to wars, colonization, persecution, and propaganda.
