🇨🇿 Sdílíme smutnou zprávu. Ve věku 102 let zemřel Mark Steece, americký válečný veterán, bývalý příslušník 16. obrněné divize, podílející se na osvobození Plzně v květnu 1945, a prezident Asociace 16. obrněné divize.

Čest jeho památce, poděkování za jeho službu, a upřímnou soustrast rodině a blízkým. 🖤

🇺🇸 We share sad news. Mark Steece, an American war veteran, former member of the 16th Armored Division, who participated in the liberation of Pilsen in May 1945, and president of the 16th Armored Division Association, has died at the age of 102.

Honor to his memory, thanks for his service, and sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. 🖤

🇺🇸 The third, supplemented and expanded edition of the book "Škoda lásky: World War II in the Northern Pilsen Region, Kralovice 1936-1946" can be purchased at the Museum and Gallery of the Northern Pilsen Region in Mariánská Týnice. We recommend it!

🇨🇿 Historické snímky z osvobození Plzně v květnu 1945 a prvních poválečných týdnů nově zdobí prostory takzvané Eiffelky v budově plzeňské radnice. Velkoformátové snímky vyhledal a zhotovil plzeňský fotograf Vladislav Vítek.

Fotky i radniční Eiffelku si můžete prohlédnout při komentovaných prohlídkách radnice.

🇺🇸 Historical photos from the liberation of Pilsen in May 1945 and the first post-war weeks are newly decorating the so-called Eiffel in the Pilsen Town Hall building. The large-format photos were found and taken by Pilsen photographer Vladislav Vítek.

You can see the photos and the Eiffel during guided tours of the Town Hall.
