🇨🇿 Přípravy jsou v plném proudu. 💪🏻 Do akce zbývá méně než 150 dní a proto jsme se sešli se zástupci Armáda České republiky, Vzdušné síly AČR, Policie České republiky, Městská policie Ostrava, Vězeňská služba České republiky, Celní správa České republiky, HZS Moravskoslezského kraje a dalších složek a bezpečnostních sborů na 1. koordinační porade k letošním Dnům NATO v Ostravě & Dnům Vzdušných sil AČR. 🤝🏻 Tentokrát se konala v krásných prostorách Zrcadlového sálu 7. mechanizovaná brigáda Hranice, za poskytnutí kterých mockrát děkujeme. 🙏🏻

Dny NATO v Ostravě & Dny Vzdušných sil AČR letos slaví 25 let. 🥳 Bude to stát za to! 💪🏻 Na viděnou 19. a 20. září 2026 na Letišti Leoše Janáčka Ostrava. 👋🏻

🇬🇧 Preparations are in full swing. 💪🏻 With less than 150 days to go, we met with representatives of the Army of the Czech Republic, the Czech Air Force, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Ostrava Municipal Police, the Czech Prison Service, the Czech Customs Administration, Fire Rescue Service of the Moravian-Silesian Region, and other units and security forces for the first coordination meeting for this year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. 🤝🏻

This time, it took place in the beautiful premises of the Mirror Hall of the 7th Mechanised Brigade, for which we are very grateful. 🙏🏻

🇨🇿 Jaké jsou dnes hlavní bezpečnostní výzvy a jak se připravit na krizové situace?

Studenti Obchodní akademie Hovorčovická a SOŠ Drtinova 3 se během dvou dubnových dnů zapojili do přednášek s odborníky z praxe i akademického prostředí. 🗣️ Diskuze jim nabídly konkrétnější pohled na to, jak současné bezpečnostní hrozby vznikají i jak na ně reagovat.

💬 Martina Heranová představila základní pilíře bezpečnosti České republiky, roli NATO a Evropské unie i aktéry, kteří ji dlouhodobě narušují.

💬 Zdeněk Rod se zaměřil na méně viditelné geopolitické výzvy – od významu uzlů světového obchodu přes dodavatelské řetězce až po roli Tchaj-wanu v produkci čipů a rostoucí význam Afriky pro strategické suroviny.

💬 Jan Patawa přiblížil krizovou komunikaci v praxi, představil příručku „72 hodin“ a na příkladu povodní v Moravskoslezském kraji ukázal, jak zásadní je komunikace směrem k veřejnosti.

🇬🇧 What are the main security challenges today, and how can we prepare for crisis situations?

Students from the Business Academy Hovorčovická and Secondary Technical School Drtinova took part in a series of lectures over two days in April, featuring experts from both professional practice and academia. 🗣️ The discussions offered them a clearer understanding of how current security threats emerge and how to respond to them.

💬 Martina Heranová introduced the fundamental pillars of the Czech Republic’s security, the role of NATO and the European Union, as well as the actors that have been undermining it in the long term.

💬 Zdeněk Rod focused on less visible geopolitical challenges – from the importance of global trade hubs and supply chains to the role of Taiwan in semiconductor production and the growing significance of Africa for strategic raw materials.

💬 Jan Paťawa presented crisis communication in practice, introduced the “72 Hours” guide, and, using the example of floods in the Moravian-Silesian Region, demonstrated how crucial communication with the public is.

🇨🇿 Jak vypadá běžný den u 71. mechanizovaný prapor "Sibiřský" v Hranicích? Co všechno obnáší služba v armádě a co si mohou studenti vyzkoušet na vlastní kůži? 🪖

Žáci SPŠ Přerov - oficiální se minulou středu vydali na exkurzi k 71. mechanizovanému praporu, kde nahlédli do každodenní práce vojáků – nejen teoreticky, ale i prakticky. 💪🏻 Vyzkoušeli si laserovou střelnici, prohlédli vojenskou techniku pěkně zblízka a dozvěděli se více o tom, co obnáší služba v armádě. 👀

Součástí programu byla také prohlídka historických prostor kasáren včetně kostela svaté Barbory, který se nachází přímo v areálu. ⛪

🇬🇧 What does a typical day look like at the 71st Mechanised Battalion in Hranice? What does military service involve, and what can students try out for themselves? 🪖

Last Wednesday, students from the Secondary Technical School in Přerov went on an excursion to the 71st Mechanised Battalion, where they gained insight into the daily work of soldiers—not only in theory, but also in practice. 💪🏻 They tried out a laser shooting range, took a close-up look at military equipment, and learned more about what serving in the army entails. 👀

The programme also included a tour of the historic barracks, including the Church of St Barbara, which is located directly within the complex. ⛪

🇨🇿 Jak vypadá služba v různých jednotkách Armáda České republiky v praxi? 🤔 A co všechno obnáší práce mechanizovaného, dělostřeleckého nebo leteckého útvaru?

Na tyto otázky hledali odpovědi studenti během exkurzí v rámci projektu Poznej NATO na podzim loňského roku. 🍂

🪖 Studenti Střední škola Strážnice navštívili 74. mechanizovaný prapor Bučovice "plk. Bohuslava Malečka", kde se seznámili s jeho historií, fungováním i technikou, kterou vojáci využívají při každodenní službě.

🫡 Studenti Gymnázium Karla Čapka, Dobříš zavítali k 13. dělostřelecký pluk "Jaselský" dělostřeleckému pluku. Dozvěděli se více o jeho struktuře, výcviku i nasazení a měli možnost si prohlédnout techniku jako TITUS, DANA, Tatra či Hilux a také pěchotní výzbroj a vybavení vojáků.

✈️ Studenti Střední odborná škola a Střední odborné učiliště Nymburk navštívili21. základna taktického letectva Čáslav "Zvolenská". Vyzkoušeli si simulátor letounu L-159, sledovali start stíhaček JAS-39C Gripen a nahlédli do hangárů techniků, kteří se starají o jejich provoz a údržbu.

🇬🇧 What does service in different units of the Army of the Czech Republic look like in practice? 🤔 And what does the work of a mechanised, artillery, or air force unit actually involve?

Students explored these questions during excursions as part of the Get to know NATO project in the autumn of last year. 🍂

🪖 Students from Strážnice Secondary School visited the 74th Mechanised Battalion in Bučovice, where they learned about its history, organisation, and the equipment used by soldiers in their daily service.

🫡 Students from Karel Čapek Grammar School in Dobříš visited the 13th Field Artillery Regiment. They learned more about its structure, training and deployments, and had the opportunity to see equipment such as the TITUS, DANA, Tatra, and Hilux vehicles, as well as infantry weapons and soldiers’ kit.

✈️ Students from Nymburk Secondary Technical and Vocational School visited the 21st Tactical Air Base in Čáslav. They tried a flight simulator for the L-159 aircraft, watched the take-off of JAS-39C Gripen fighter jets, and visited the hangars of technicians responsible for their operation and maintenance.

Jaká je práce Celní správa České republiky v praxi? A jak dnes vypadá informační válka? 🛃💻

Na tyto otázky hledali odpovědi studenti v Uničově a Olomouci během debat v rámci projektu Poznej NATO na podzim loňského roku 🍂. S por. Davidem Kubenzem, tiskovým mluvčím Celního úřadu pro Olomoucký kraj, mluvili studenti SPŠ a SOU Uničov o každodenní práci celníků i aktuálních bezpečnostních výzvách.

S plk. Ivem Zelinkou, velitelem 91. skupina informačního boje debatovali studenti Střední průmyslová škola strojnická Olomouc nejen o tom, jak funguje informační boj a proč je důležité se vyznat v dnešním informačním prostoru. 🌐

🇬🇧 What does the work of the Customs Administration look like in practice? And what does information warfare look like today? 🛃💻

Students in Uničov and Olomouc explored these questions during debates held as part of the Poznej NATO project last autumn 🍂. Together with Lieutenant David Kubenz, spokesperson for the Customs Office for the Olomouc Region, students from SPŠ and SOU Uničov discussed the day-to-day work of customs officers as well as current security challenges.

Students from the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering in Olomouc then debated with Colonel Ivo Zelinka, commander of the 91st Information Warfare Group, not only about how information warfare works, but also why it is important to navigate today’s information environment. 🌐

🇨🇿 První RISE Dialogue v Austinu!

V texaském Austinu se minulý týden, ve čtvrtek 12. března, uskutečnil první ročník Resilience in Security and Economics (RISE) Dialogue ve spolupráci s Atlantic Council a The University of Texas at Austin. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏻

Na půldenní konferenci se setkali političtí lídři, zástupci byznysu, bezpečnostní experti i akademická sféra. Společně diskutovali o posilování transatlantické spolupráce, odolnosti ekonomik, inovacích a nových příležitostech na obou stranách Atlantiku, ale i konkrétních příkladech česko-americké spolupráce v oblasti kybernetické bezpečnosti nebo vzájemné pomoci v čase krizí, kdy se v loňském roce čeští hasiči účastnili záchranných prací po povodních právě v Texasu. 💬

Těší nás, že se akce zúčastnil i 1. vicepremiér a ministr průmyslu a obchodu ČR Karel Havlíček v debatě s viceprezidentkou Atlantic Council Jennou Ben-Yehuda.

🇬🇧 The first RISE Dialogue in Austin!

The inaugural Resilience in Security and Economics (RISE) Dialogue took place last week on Thursday, 12 March in Austin, Texas, in cooperation with the Atlantic Council and The University of Texas at Austin. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏻

The half-day conference brought together political leaders, business representatives, security experts, and academics. They discussed strengthening transatlantic cooperation, enhancing economic resilience, fostering innovation, and exploring new opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic. The programme also highlighted concrete examples of Czech–American cooperation, including in cybersecurity and mutual assistance during times of crisis—such as last year, when Czech firefighters took part in rescue operations following floods in Texas. 💬

We were also pleased that the event was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Karel Havlíček, who joined a discussion with Atlantic Council Vice President Jenna Ben-Yehuda.

🫱🏻‍🫲🏻 We would like to thank all partners, speakers, and participants for the inspiring discussions, and we believe this marks a strong beginning for a new platform for transatlantic dialogue.

🇨🇿 Tradiční a zároveň unikátní součástí konference Naše bezpečnost není samozřejmost je politický diskuzní panel. Probíhá za účasti vrcholných zástupců všech osmi politických stran a hnutí zastoupených v Parlamentu České republiky.

Hlavními body diskuze byly ukotvení České republiky v NATO, otázka vnitřní bezpečnosti, mezinárodní vztahy i nové obranné technologie.

🇬🇧 A traditional and yet unique part of the Our Security Cannot Be Taken for Granted conference is the political discussion panel. It brought together senior representatives of all eight political parties and movements represented in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

The main points of the discussion included the Czech Republic’s anchoring in NATO, issues of internal security, international relations, and new defence technologies.
