After two decades of cross-cultural work in Olomouc, Czech Republic, we know the struggles and joys missionaries face. We know how tough yet rewarding it can be to start and grow communities of faith. And we've seen the local climate change in just the last few years. Something must be done...
WE PROVIDE:
- Mission care (a.k.a. member care) services to missionaries, church leaders, and various c
ross-cultural workers. This includes accommodations in our home — our Garden Refuge — for rest and renewal, debriefing, spiritual formation, fitness training, and more. We are also available to talk and pray online.
- Consultation and encouragement to small faith communities (house churches, simple churches, Christian non-profits).
- Education and advocacy related to care for the environment. We focus especially on educating and encouraging church leaders and members to take practical steps to care for creation. GARDEN REFUGE:
- Come visit us in the heart of Europe. We have private accommodations in our home dedicated to global workers. With access to our backyard and the beauty surrounding Olomouc, it's a Garden Refuge — a place to rest in God and sense his love and provision. When you come, we'll do our best to make your stay comfortable, refreshing, and transforming. You'll have time to rest and reflect, reconnect with God, and share about your experiences with someone who understands. OUR MISSION:
- Is to care for, counsel, and cultivate Christian workers and communities to help them live, relate, and work in healthy and effective ways. We want to help them care for themselves, each other, and creation. In his life and ministry, we see Jesus caring for both body and soul. We believe his followers should do the same and think holistically. Therefore, we strive to address all aspects of a person's well-being — spiritual, emotional, relational, physical, and economic. This is especially important for those who pour themselves out for others. They need holistic care so that their work can be effective and sustainable and they and their families healthy and happy.
- Communities of Believers and Seekers. It's hard to create churches where all feel truly welcome. But it's in community and dialogue that we can learn, grow, and experience divine love together. We want to encourage faith communities with this missional focus and to form and be a part of such communities ourselves.
- Creation Care. In the first chapters of the Bible, Adam and Eve were charged with caring for God’s good creation; so we want to be good stewards of it, too, and to encourage others to do the same. The church — the community that prays for God’s kingdom to come and will be done on earth — should be leading the way.
