Announcing the Cool Critters adoption procedure! Due to the high volume of adoption requests we receive, we have decided to implement a new adoption procedure to help us find the perfect fit for each and every animal. If y

ou see an animal you are interested in adopting, or would like to be considered for adoption in general, you will need to fill out our adoption application. We will review these applications and choose candidates we feel are best suited to match with the personalities and needs of the animals available for adoption. These candidates will then be invited for a round of meet and greets, after which the final decision on adoption will be made. Being first to fill out an application will not guarantee you will be chosen. You will be considered again when another pup or kitty that seems to be a potential match comes through our doors. Total sweetheart SAM is STILL looking for his forever home!!

Meet SAM, male, 6 years old, medium size, mixed breed. He is vaccinated, dewormed, anti-parasite treated, microchipped and castrated.

Meet Sam, the dog with the biggest smile in our shelter! This total sweetheart absolutely adores people, thrives on attention, and never turns down a good cuddle.❤️ He also likes kids.

Sam is great on a leash and has a relaxed, lower-medium energy level that makes him a wonderfully easygoing companion.✨ Because he has previously spent time in a foster home, he already knows how to behave in an apartment. While he prefers a little privacy for his bathroom breaks, we are confident he will get the hang of pooping on a leash with a routine.

When it comes to other animals, Sam has been successfully tested with indoor cats. 🐾 He is fine with other dogs, but he tends to prefer females and gets along wonderfully with our senior males. He dislikes overly pushy or dominant dogs, but he is highly manageable and non-confrontational on the leash. Sam is very submissive, listens to his humans, and accepts corrections easily.

At the end of the day, Sam is a true "people dog." 🫶 This adorable boy is ready to bring a lifetime of smiles, love, and happy butt-wiggles to his forever home!

LIVVI is looking for her forever home!!

Livvi, female, 1 year 2 months old, mixed breed, small size 8 kg. She is dewormed, anti-parasite treated, microchipped, castrated and vaccinated.

At just one year old, this small sweetheart absolutely adores people. Livvi will happily approach, looking for all the cuddles, affection, and reassurance you can give. In fact, her absolute favourite thing is being held and melting right into your lap.❤️

She is a total darling within the shelter walls, but the big outside world is a scary place for her. We think that Livvi hasn't experienced much in her short life, and loud noises or unfamiliar sights can overwhelm her quickly. Walking on a leash isn't really her thing just yet, she might sniff around a little bit, but her main goal is usually to head straight back home, or she simply freezes up when she gets overwhelmed.

We don't think the city or its busy surrounding areas would be a good fit for Livvi! Instead, we picture her thriving in the peaceful countryside, ideally in a home with a secure garden where she can explore at her own pace and safely work on her house training, which she is still mastering.

When it comes to other dogs, Livvi is fine around them but generally does not engage much (yet). We think she would feel safer around dogs of her own size. When bigger dogs try to engage in play, it is still far too scary for her. Livvi has made friends with our Bella, but that is mostly because Bella doesn't play rough and spends most of her time just laying down. 🐾

Livvi just needs to discover the world slowly and safely with someone who can guide her patience and experience. 🥰
