💙 Sie sind in Vietnam angekommen! Vietnamesische Fasane aus dem europäischen Erhaltungszuchtprogramm sind von Berlin in ihre Heimat zurückgekehrt – dort gelten sie als „in der Natur ausgestorben“.
Hauptursachen ihres Verschwindens waren Jagd und starker Lebensraumverlust, verstärkt durch den Vietnamkrieg. Ihre Rückkehr ist das Ergebnis langjähriger internationaler Zusammenarbeit im Artenschutz. Die Ankunft ist ein wichtiger Schritt im Projekt „Bring Back Blue“. Die Tiere bleiben zunächst in menschlicher Obhut, während Lebensräume gesichert und die Grundlage für eine spätere Wiederansiedlung geschaffen wird.
💙 Vietnam Pheasants have arrived in Vietnam! They returned from Berlin to their native range, where they are “Extinct in the Wild.” Hunting and habitat loss, worsened by the Vietnam War, caused their decline. Their return results from long-term international conservation work. This is a key step in the “Bring Back Blue” project. The birds will stay in protected care while habitats are restored for future reintroduction.
