It is my pleasure to invite you to our upcoming Rotary Club of Nicosia Luncheon Meeting on Thursday, 15 October 2026, where we will have the honour of welcoming H.E. Mr Manish, High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, as our distinguished guest speaker.

His Excellency will address us on the timely and important topic:

“Cyprus and India in the Next Decade: From Comprehensive to Strategic Partnership”

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Nicosia, from 13:00 to 15:00.

This promises to be a particularly interesting luncheon, offering us an opportunity to hear directly from His Excellency about the evolving relationship between Cyprus and India and the prospects for an even stronger strategic partnership in the years ahead.

Members are warmly encouraged to attend and are, of course, welcome to invite guests, friends and colleagues who may be interested in the topic.

An ambitious fundraising initiative, two years of dedication and the generosity of remarkable supporters have culminated in the successful completion of Care4Rare, a landmark Rotary Club of Nicosia project for the Karaiskakio Foundation.

On 23 September, we were proud to celebrate this achievement at the Karaiskakio Foundation’s Donor Appreciation Event, marking the culmination of an initiative that began in 2024–2025 with an ambitious objective: to raise €50,000 towards providing the Foundation with a specially equipped mobile unit.

Care4Rare was conceived and initiated by our Past President Theodora Vassiliou, whose dedication and determination were instrumental in mobilising the support needed to transform this vision into reality. The delivery of the vehicle in 2026 represents a tangible and lasting contribution to the Foundation and its invaluable work supporting patients and families affected by rare diseases.

At the heart of the project’s success was the exceptional support of our principal contributors.
Special recognition goes to fellow Rotarian Dickran Ouzounian and Dickran Ouzounian and Company Limited / Toyota Cyprus, whose exceptional generosity, personal involvement and instrumental contribution towards securing the vehicle played a pivotal role in making Care4Rare possible.

Our profound appreciation also goes to fellow Rotarian George Petrou of Staroil Cyprus and EKO Cyprus, whose substantial support and generosity contributed significantly to the realisation of the project.

We also gratefully acknowledge Past President Theodora Vassiliou, Past President Michalis Prodromou / A.Prodromou & Co. Ltd, Deloitte, ΟΕΛΜΕΚ, Κυπριακος Οργανισμος Αθλητισμου (KOA) and the Deputy Ministry of Culture for their generous support and contribution.

Care4Rare is a truly collective achievement and a powerful example of what can be accomplished when Rotary, businesses, institutions and individuals unite behind a shared humanitarian purpose.

This was more than an achievement, it is a continued support for patients affected by rare diseases.

It was a pleasure, as President of the Rotary Club of Nicosia, to attend the Sunset Latin Party on Saturday 19/09 in Ayia Napa, organised by the Rotary Club of Famagusta – Cavo Greco and the Rotary Club of Nicosia-Salamis, bringing Rotarians and friends together while supporting the Clubs’ community service projects.

My warm congratulations to President Taras Lozhenko of RC Famagusta – Cavo Greco and President Elena Vassiliou of RC Nicosia-Salamis for a fantastic initiative and a truly enjoyable evening.

It was also lovely to share the evening with fellow Rotary friends, including President Jenny Avraam of RC Nicosia Aspelia, DDG Michalis Avraam, AG for Famagusta-Cavo Greco Costas Vassiliou, PAG Annie Hadjimarcou AND Kia Tali.

Congratulations to both Clubs, and thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

On 10 September, the Rotary Club of Nicosia and the Rotary Club of Nicosia-Aspelia came together for a special evening celebrating the success of “Fashion Unites for Good” and, most importantly, the difference this initiative has made.

During the evening, a cheque for €20,000 was proudly presented to Ms Ersi Papayianni, Director of the Archangelos Michael Elderly Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre (AMEN), representing the proceeds raised through the charity fashion show jointly organised by our two Clubs on 3 June 2026.

A particularly meaningful moment for our Club was the recognition of PP Stavriana Antoniou, under whose Presidency Fashion Unites for Good was organised. On behalf of the Rotary Club of Nicosia, President Stephanie Georgiadou presented Stavriana with a special plaque of appreciation, recognising her exceptional dedication, leadership and the tremendous success of this initiative.

Our warmest thanks also go to President Jenny Avraam and DDG Michalis Avraam for graciously hosting approximately 150 guests at their home, and to PDG Kevork Mahdessian, who guided us through the evening’s programme.

The evening concluded beautifully with a special musical performance by Sophia Patsalides, bringing a memorable celebration of service and fellowship to a close.

Congratulations once again to PP Stavriana Antoniou, to our friends at the Rotary Club of Nicosia-Aspelia, and to every person who helped turn Fashion Unites for Good into a tangible contribution to our community.

A wonderful start to our Rotary year!

Yesterday, the Rotary Club of Nicosia held its first Luncheon Meeting of the 2026–2027 Rotary year at Hilton Nicosia, bringing together fellow Rotarians, distinguished guests and friends for an inspiring lunch and enlightening discussion.

We were honoured to welcome Mr Demetris Skourides as our guest speaker, Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology, whose insightful presentation and perspective gave us much food for thought and set a fitting tone for the year ahead.

It was also our great privilege to welcome H.E. Manish Manish, High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, as our honorary guest. His presence made the occasion particularly special.

A heartfelt thank you to our members, guests and friends who joined us and contributed to making our first meeting such a warm and successful occasion.

Last night we had our very first Board Meeting for 2026-2027, and it was the perfect mix of planning, laughter, great conversations, and getting to know each other even better. We spent the evening sharing ideas, setting goals, and getting excited about everything we have planned for the year ahead. I have no doubt it’s going to be an amazing journey with this incredible team!

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Reserva52 for looking after us so well. From the warm hospitality and excellent service to the beautiful setting and delicious food, everything was simply perfect.

Our President Elect 2026-2027 Stephanie Georgiadou attended the Rotary District 2452 President & Secretary Elect Learning Seminar, where she had the opportunity to prepare for the exciting year ahead.

A sincere thank you to our District Governor 2026–2027, May R. Monla Chmaitilly, from Lebanon, for an inspiring seminar and for the honour of presenting our PE Stephanie with her President Elect recognition and official Rotary pin.

Our Handover Ceremony for 2026-2027 from current President Stavriana Antoniou to PE Stephanie Georgiadou will take place on 8th July 2026 at 19:30 at Cleopatra Hotel (pool area).
