The Rotary Club of Nicosia celebrated a truly special milestone as we marked the official Handover Ceremony and welcomed the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

It was an honour to accept the role of President, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to lead our Club over the coming year.

A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing President, Stavriana Antoniou, we are proud of you and deeply grateful for everything you have done for our Club.

Special thanks also go to:
✨ PP Garo Zartarian for expertly serving as our Master of Ceremonies.
✨ PP Nada Panayiotou for leading us in a beautiful and meaningful prayer.
✨ PP Michalis Prodromou for warmly welcoming our members and distinguished guests.
✨ Cleopatra Hotel for their wonderful hospitality.

Finally, I would like to thank my incredible Board for 2026–2027. It was a pleasure to attend the Rotary Clubs of Cyprus Handover Ceremony, celebrating the transition of leadership from Yiannos Pissourios to Michalis Avraam as Deputy District Governor.

Congratulations to Michalis on this well-deserved appointment. Wishing you every success in the year ahead as you continue to inspire Rotarians across Cyprus through leadership, fellowship and service. Thank you also to Yiannos for your dedication and valuable contribution during the past Rotary year.

I am especially honoured to have been pinned by DDG Michalis Avraam as the Cyprus Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Officer for 2026–2027. It is a privilege to undertake this role and contribute to one of Rotary’s most impactful youth leadership programmes, empowering the next generation to become confident, ethical and compassionate leaders.

As I begin my year as President of the Rotary Club of Nicosia, I look forward to working alongside fellow Rotarians across Cyprus to strengthen our friendships, serve our communities, and create lasting opportunities for young people.

Last night we had our very first Board Meeting for 2026-2027, and it was the perfect mix of planning, laughter, great conversations, and getting to know each other even better. We spent the evening sharing ideas, setting goals, and getting excited about everything we have planned for the year ahead. I have no doubt it’s going to be an amazing journey with this incredible team!

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Reserva52 for looking after us so well. From the warm hospitality and excellent service to the beautiful setting and delicious food, everything was simply perfect.

Our President Elect 2026-2027 Stephanie Georgiadou attended the Rotary District 2452 President & Secretary Elect Learning Seminar, where she had the opportunity to prepare for the exciting year ahead.

A sincere thank you to our District Governor 2026–2027, May R. Monla Chmaitilly, from Lebanon, for an inspiring seminar and for the honour of presenting our PE Stephanie with her President Elect recognition and official Rotary pin.

Our Handover Ceremony for 2026-2027 from current President Stavriana Antoniou to PE Stephanie Georgiadou will take place on 8th July 2026 at 19:30 at Cleopatra Hotel (pool area).

On Friday, 5 June, the Rotary Club of Nicosia officially handed over a Toyota vehicle for the Mobile Outreach Clinic to the Karaiskakio Foundation, marking the completion of an important community project for the 2024–2025 Rotary year.

The initiative was launched during the presidency of Theodora Vassiliou and funded through charitable events, sponsorships, and donations throughout the year.

The vehicle, supplied by Toyota Cyprus, will support the Mobile Outreach Clinic programme by transporting children with cancer and individuals with rare diseases who face difficulties accessing the Foundation’s services.

The project reflects Rotary’s message, “Rotary Unites for Good,” demonstrating how volunteerism, collaboration, and social responsibility can create meaningful and lasting impact for vulnerable communities.

On May 22, Cyprus welcomed the opening of the District 2452 Conference at the Radisson Beach Resort, bringing together members of the Rotary community from across the region and beyond.

Hosted at the Radisson Beach Resort, the conference welcomed attendees from across the district’s nine countries, together with guests from neighbouring and European nations, reflecting the diversity and unity that define Rotary.

The day concluded with a beautiful gala evening, bringing people together through music, friendship, and shared moments that captured the heart of the Rotary spirit.
