It's been awhile since I posted any updates on new arrivals,adoptions and flights.
Our last flight on May 31st 7 flew to the UK to start their new lives with their forever families.
I have also had 3 direct flight to the UK with 9 adoptions and 1 little girl to Germany.
The next big flight to the UK is on the 5th July where 13 lucky soles will start their new lives in their forever homes.

It's been a tough few months with vet visits.

Carrie had her operation on her leg and is doing well she had an x ray and her stitches removed yesterday and is healing well. Unfortunately the fund raiser did not manage to reach target so I still have to raise €1050.

Then there is beautiful Amelia who was found on the street with her pups who I offered to help as she was not coping in the shelter her blood tests are positive for Leishmania so her treatment will start next week I have to find €220 for the medication ( this does not cover her bloods test and other mediation).

Then I have Daisy who I offered to take as no one else offered and I just could not just leave her on the street.
She is suffering from some kind of stomach infection despite doing tests, medication and changing her food things are not improving the next step in taking a poo sample and sending it away to the laboratory for testing. Her vets bill so far is just over €300 this is not including boarding and special food. The laboratory tests are over €300 I received a donation of £100 for Daisy.
All this adds additional stress and worry as to how I am going to cover the vets fees.

All additional cost tests, operations, medication, food and boarding I have to cover these costs. The UK Stronger Together Animal Rescue covers the basic vets fees in relation to the adoption fee ( but the adoption fee in no way actually covers all the costs and the charity covers the balance ).
I have said it so many times but I have to now standby the decision and say " I cannot help anymore dogs " Saying NO makes me feel so guilty then I cannot stop thinking about the poor dog and what will come of him or her and especially now the temperatures are in the 30's but unless the person who is asking for my help takes responsibility of their ongoing vets fees, boarding and food then the answer is NO.

Without the continued support of the shop and peoples kind donations and the amazing team of ladies who volunteer in running the shop in Pissouri I would not be able to continue to help so many.

This is Daisy she was a stray in Theletra for weeks she was being feed by local people but unfortunately no one was in a position to take her in and there was always the worry something may happen to her. I was asked to help and despite already being over stretch both financially and having no space I offered to help her.
She is a small shepherd x extremely friendly and just wants to be with people. I only agreed to help as I had a foster place for her but unfortunately the foster place I had for her is now not able to take her in so she is in tempory boarding until an alternative safe place can be found.
Once again I have been left with another vet bill to cover.
Daisy tested positive for Gardia and Anaplasma so is now being treated.
If anyone would like to help towards the vet and boarding costs for Daisy.

APRIL FREEDOM FLIGHT 19th.

Early this morning 15 lucky babies left their old lives behind them to start a new a happier journey in the UK with families that have opened up their hearts and home and have given them a family who will love and care for them.
The 15 included 4 from Friends Of Pegeia Dog Pound.
The 11 from Help us Find Furever homes are
Dolly, Pleggy, Roscoe and Cindy the 4 Tala box puppies abandoned cramped I to a tiny box and sealed shut with tape by a busy road.

Hooper and Henry found abandoned in a field in Avdimou.

Amy, Annie and Stela from Geroskipou pound.

Millie homed on behalf of @ Airs foundation

Buddy who was found in Peyia and followed a family who was walking their dogs home.

As 11 fly to happier new lives there are other waiting for their chance, but I can only help these if more people offer to help foster.

I would like to say a big thank you to Maria Milligan Tala and Peter for their support and kind donation to my vet bill of €120 that was raised last Sunday at the Makers Market from the sale of the beautiful wooden art work Peter lovingly makes and sells to raise funds in aid of the dogs.

Also a thank you for their friends who donated €200 which was also paid to my vet to help towards my outstanding balance.

Κατανοούμε την αγωνία των πολιτών και των φροντιστών ζώων και θεωρούμε απαραίτητο να αντιμετωπιστεί το ζήτημα με σοβαρότητα, ψυχραιμία και θεσμική υπευθυνότητα. Στόχος μας είναι η προστασία των ζώων και η διασφάλιση της νομιμότητας.

Τονίζουμε ότι οι εγγεγραμμένες φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις που δραστηριοποιούνται νόμιμα και υπόκεινται στους απαραίτητους ελέγχους, δεν πρέπει να στοχοποιούνται αβάσιμα. Η νόμιμη υιοθεσία και η αποστολή ζώων στο εξωτερικό, όταν γίνεται με όλες τις προβλεπόμενες διαδικασίες, αποτελεί πράξη διάσωσης και προσφοράς μιας καλύτερης ζωής.

As volunteers of animal rescue organisations and independent volunteers, we express our grave concern regarding the recent incidents of cat disappearances recorded in various regions of Cyprus.

We understand the anxiety of citizens and animal caretakers and we consider it essential to address this issue with seriousness, composure and institutional responsibility. Our goal is the protection of animals and the safeguarding of legality.

We emphasise that registered animal welfare organisations which operate legally and are subject to necessary oversight must not be targeted without evidence. Legal adoption and the relocation of animals abroad, when conducted following all prescribed procedures, constitute an act of rescue and the provision of a better life.

We call upon all citizens to remain calm and avoid conflicts, threats, or public accusations without proof, as these do not contribute to a substantial investigation of the matter.

There are volunteers performing spay and neuter programs in various areas. Should any suspicion arise, please gather information politely, allowing volunteers the right to continue their vital work.

APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC

In the event that an incident of cat collection or trapping causes concerns, we kindly request the following:

Record the facts calmly.

Send relevant information to [email protected], including:

Full Name

Area / Address

Date and time of the incident

Contact phone number

This information will be gathered responsibly and forwarded to the competent authorities for further investigation.

Additionally, reports regarding missing cats (from either the recent past or the present) may be sent to the same email address with the corresponding details.

Our purpose is not confrontation, but cooperation and organised documentation, so that we may contribute substantially to the investigation of these incidents.

For the sake of the animals and our society, let us act with unity, responsibility, and determination.

Together, we can protect those who have no voice.

Let me introduce you to this sazzy little girl. She was rescued from outside the shopping in a terrible condition. After a short stay with Dr John she is now in foster care with Raya and looking for a loving home where she can be a house cat. She has been spayed and vaccinated.
If anyone would like to offer this sweet little girl a a loving home please drop me a pm.
Alternatively if any of my fb friends would like to adopt her in the UK then I can arrange for her to come to the UK.
