The Heart Behind the Treats… and the Loudest Voice in the Shelter ❤️
I was in another kennel when I walked past and saw this and I had to stop for a moment.

This is Sue Hannis, our nurse! No matter how tired she is, she comes to the shelter every single day to give medications, make sure everyone is okay, hand out treats before she leaves, and most importantly, spend time with them.

She may drive people crazy sometimes 😅, but when it comes to animals, she is simply amazing. Her love, patience, and dedication never fail.

Rescue isn’t only about feeding and cleaning. It’s about sitting on the floor with a frightened dog, offering comfort and kindness until they learn to trust again.

Thank you, Sue for everything you do for our dogs. They adore you, and so do we❤️

Today’s Rescue: Because Turning Away Was Never an Option.

Even though we recently announced that we could no longer take in any more animals, today we simply could not say no.

How could we turn our backs on a dog found with a plastic container trapped around his head, frightened and helpless? Some situations leave you with no choice but to step in.

This is the heartbreaking reality of rescue. We are exhausted, overwhelmed, and beyond capacity, yet every day there is another life depending on someone to care.

Thankfully, this boy is now safe. He has food, water, veterinary care, and the chance to experience kindness instead of suffering.

Please share our story. One share can raise awareness, inspire compassion, and help us continue saving lives. If you can, please consider adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating. Together, we can make a difference.

Meet Ruby!

Ruby is a 10-month-old handsome boy searching for a family to call his own. This gorgeous young lad is ready to leave shelter life behind and discover what it means to be loved unconditionally.

Like many of our shelter dogs, Ruby dreams of simple things , a warm bed, a sofa to curl up on, daily walks, and people who will never let him down again. At just 10 months old, he still has his whole life ahead of him and is ready to create beautiful memories with his forever family.

Could that family be yours?

Important message from Argos Animal Sanctuary!

Please understand that we are full.

Every day we receive messages and phone calls asking us to take in more animals. We know people are trying to help, but we simply cannot continue carrying this responsibility alone.

Those of us involved in rescue also have families, jobs, and personal lives. We cannot be available 24 hours a day or keep up with the constant pressure to solve every situation.

If you find an animal in need and want to help, please do not expect shelters to do everything. Rescue is a shared responsibility. If you are able to, please help directly by fostering, assisting with food or veterinary costs, arranging transport, contacting the relevant authorities, or actively trying to find a solution.

Please do not pressure us, blame us, or make us feel guilty when we are unable to help. We care deeply about every animal, but we cannot do the impossible. Being told that we “don’t care” or that we “must take them” when we simply have no space or resources only adds to the emotional burden that rescuers already carry every single day.

Until some of our current animals leave for their forever homes, we will not be accepting any new admissions.

Please respect our decision and our limits. Saying “no” does not mean we do not care it means that we have reached a point where we can no longer cope without compromising the welfare of the animals already in our care.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Please adopt, foster, volunteer, donate, and share. Together, we can make a difference.

While the world keeps moving, they keep waiting… waiting for a family, a sofa to call their own, and someone to love them forever.

Please share. Their family might be just one share away.

Today, Tommy starts a brand new chapter.

No more waiting. No more kennel life.

Just love, walks, cuddles, and his very own family. And yes, Tommy will finally have his own sofa to fall asleep on.

His new family already adopted a dog from us 13 months ago, and now Tommy is joining the family and meeting his new sister. ❤️

Thank you, Elaine Sullivan for the daily visits, walks, hugs, cuddles and treats. Your love and dedication meant so much to Tommy during his time with us.

We are so happy for you, Tommy. Enjoy every moment of your new life. You deserve it!

Every rescue deserves a happy ending. Today, it’s Tommy’s turn🥰. Follow our journey

⚠️ Warning: Distressing Content ⚠️
This rescue video contains graphic images of abandoned and injured kittens. They hand you a closed box…

You don’t know what is inside.

A frightened animal?
An injured kitten?
A life that has been abandoned and forgotten?

When we received this box, our hearts sank. Inside were tiny kittens in desperate need of help. Scared, vulnerable, and completely dependent on human kindness to survive.

These are the moments rescuers face every day. We never know what we will find, but we know we cannot turn away. Every rescue means food, milk, veterinary care, medication, and countless hours of dedication from our small team of volunteers.

With so many animals relying on us every day, we urgently need your support to continue helping those with nowhere else to go.

Today is a big day for us!

While many people are enjoying a relaxing Saturday and soaking up the sun, we are busy bathing, preparing, and making sure everything is ready for six of our dogs to begin their journey to their forever homes.

Days like this are exhausting, but they remind us why we do rescue. Every bath, every vet visit, every piece of paperwork, and every early morning is worth it when we see another dog getting the chance they deserve.

A huge thank you to our partner organisation Hundeliebe-grenzenlos e.V., adopters, fosters and flight parents for giving six more dogs the opportunity to leave shelter life behind and start a new chapter filled with love, safety, and happiness.

Safe travels, little ones. We wish you a lifetime of love with your new families.
