Milestone achieved! 📄⚓
We are pleased to announce the completion of a major project deliverable: the PortAbility Strategic Blueprint.
This document serves as a foundational roadmap for our project, examining how Vocational Education and Training (VET) can actively drive a Just Transition across Europe's port city regions.
Grounded in academic research and extensive stakeholder consultation with over 170 key informants across our four Mediterranean hubs—Taranto, Andalusia, Thessaly, and Cyprus—the Blueprint establishes four essentials for sustainable transformation: People, Skills, Social Inclusion, and Cooperation.
Key takeaways from the Blueprint analysis include:
🔹 Integrated Transition Drivers:
Mapping how green, digital, economic, social, and governance pressures intersect in modern port ecosystems.
🔹 Inclusion-First Learning:
Demonstrating that green and digital skills systems must embed social accessibility from the start to avoid deepening labor barriers.
🔹 A Framework for Action:
Laying the groundwork for upcoming project outputs, including micro-credentials, flexible VET pathways, and Local Communities of Practice.
This milestone reflects the joint research, regional expertise, and cross-border collaboration of our transnational consortium.
