Lefkosia Youth Ballet

The Lefkosia Youth Ballet was established in 1999. It consists of young talented dancers ages 11-19 who wish to pursue a career in dance.

The aims of the Lefkosia Youth Ballet are:

1) To enhance the skills of young dancers and give them the opportunity to perform publicly.
2) To promote and assist young Cypriot dancers who wish to pursue their dance abroad. Special attention is given to helping dancers participate in international festivals and competitions, as well helping them locate and apply for scholarships abroad.
3) To enric

h the public’s knowledge and appreciation of dance
4) To broaden the skills and knowledge of LYB teachers through educational and other activities.
5) To encourage cooperation among cultural bodies and organizations both in Cyprus and abroad, with the aim of promoting the arts.
6) To raise the standard of the dancers’ skills. To develop a close-knit community in which members help each other with their common goals.
7) To familiarize the community with the Youth Ballet and their work.

Ενα μεγάλο μπράβο στα παιδιά της χορευτικής ομάδας του Lefkosia Youth Ballet που έλαβαν μέρος στον 19ο Παγκύπριο διαγωνισμό χορού που διεξάχθηκε στο Παττίχειο Δημοτικό Θέατρο στις 3, 4 & 5 Απριλίου.

The Lefkosia Youth Ballet recently presented Cinderella, in collaboration with the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, featuring more than 65 talented young dancers. We are delighted to announce that our students, Katerina, Eva Athanasia, Marielle, and Georgia, were among the selected dancers who participated in this beautiful production. ✨🎭

For the performance, younger children were needed to take on the roles of mice. Following auditions with approximately 100 children, only 14 were selected — a remarkable achievement! Our students began rehearsals in July and went on to participate in four performances: three in Nicosia and one in Limassol.👏🎉

Congratulations to our students for their dedication, hard work, and outstanding performances. We are so proud to see them shine on such a prestigious stage 🩰🌟
