Η κοινωνική επιχειρηματικότητα δεν αφορά μόνο την οικονομία. Αφορά το μέλλον της κοινωνίας μας.
Με ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον διαβάσαμε το άρθρο του Δρ. Μάριου Παπαγεωργίου, Λειτουργού του Τμήματος Ενέργειας και Περιβάλλοντος της ΟΕΒ, με τίτλο «Η κοινωνική διάσταση της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης».
Το άρθρο αναδεικνύει μια θεμελιώδη αλήθεια: η βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη δεν μπορεί να επιτευχθεί χωρίς κοινωνική συνοχή, ίσες ευκαιρίες και ουσιαστική συμμετοχή όλων των πολιτών. Η κοινωνική επιχειρηματικότητα, η αξιοποίηση των δυνατοτήτων των ατόμων με αναπηρία, η προσβασιμότητα και η συμπερίληψη δεν αποτελούν πλέον ζητήματα εταιρικής φιλανθρωπίας, αλλά βασικές προϋποθέσεις για μια σύγχρονη και ανταγωνιστική οικονομία.
Ως Οργάνωση Πολιτισμού η «Νεόφυτος», χαιρετίζουμε την πρωτοβουλία της
OEB - Ομοσπονδία Εργοδοτών & Βιομηχάνων και του CSR Cyprus να ανοίξουν έναν ουσιαστικό διάλογο γύρω από αυτά τα ζητήματα. Πιστεύουμε ότι μέσα από συνεργασίες ανάμεσα στην επιχειρηματική κοινότητα, την κοινωνία των πολιτών, την ακαδημαϊκή κοινότητα και τους ίδιους τους ανθρώπους με αναπηρία μπορούμε να δημιουργήσουμε ένα νέο μοντέλο ανάπτυξης, όπου η κοινωνική αξία και η οικονομική πρόοδος συμπορεύονται.
Ανυπομονούμε να συμβάλουμε ενεργά σε αυτή τη νέα πορεία και να μετατρέψουμε τις ιδέες σε συγκεκριμένες δράσεις προς όφελος της κυπριακής κοινωνίας.

and journalist for highlighting one of the most important conversations about accessibility and inclusive tourism in Cyprus.
The interview explores a fundamental principle that our organization has consistently advocated: accessibility should never be understood as a single technical intervention or the installation of equipment. True accessibility is a continuous chain of inclusive experiences that enables every person to travel, enjoy public spaces, participate in cultural and social life, and experience independence, dignity, and equal opportunities.
As emphasized in the interview, accessible beaches require much more than access to the sea. Parking, pathways, changing facilities, restrooms, shaded areas, cafés, restaurants, hotels, maintenance of accessibility equipment, and trained support where needed are all essential elements of an inclusive visitor experience.
The Neofytos Cultural Organization firmly believes that accessibility is a human rights issue, a matter of social justice, and a strategic investment in sustainable tourism. Cyprus has already made important progress, but there is still significant work ahead to transform accessibility from isolated interventions into a comprehensive national vision.
We sincerely hope this discussion will contribute to a broader public dialogue and encourage stronger cooperation among public authorities, municipalities, tourism stakeholders, disability organizations, and civil society.
Together, we can build a Cyprus where accessibility is not the exception, but the standard.

Θερμά συγχαρητήρια στο Ίδρυμα Χρίστου Στέλιου Ιωάννου
για το σπουδαίο έργο που επιτελεί.
Η σύνδεση της αναγεννητικής γεωργίας με την ουσιαστική συμπερίληψη αποδεικνύει ότι η βιωσιμότητα δεν αφορά μόνο το περιβάλλον, αλλά και τους ανθρώπους. Η ενεργός συμμετοχή ενηλίκων με νοητική αναπηρία στις γεωργικές δραστηριότητες αναδεικνύει στην πράξη ότι η εργασία, η εκπαίδευση και η αξιοπρέπεια μπορούν να συνυπάρχουν σε ένα μοντέλο που ωφελεί ολόκληρη την κοινωνία.
Τέτοιες πρωτοβουλίες αποτελούν παράδειγμα κοινωνικής καινοτομίας και μας υπενθυμίζουν ότι η συμπερίληψη δεν είναι σύνθημα· είναι καθημερινή πράξη.

Δυσλειτουργίες στη Σύγχρονη Τέχνη / σε εποχές συγκρούσεων

Το Δημοτικό Κέντρο Τεχνών Λεμεσού – Αποθήκες Παπαδάκη φιλοξενεί την ομαδική εικαστική έκθεση των καλλιτεχνών - μελών του Επιμελητηρίου Καλών Τεχνών Κύπρου (Ε.ΚΑ.ΤΕ.), με τίτλο Δυσλειτουργίες στη σύγχρονη τέχνη / σε εποχές συγκρούσεων, σε επιμέλεια των Κατίνας Κώστα, Ρεβέκκας Τάκη και Γεωργίας Μιχαηλίδη Σαάντ.

Το θέμα της έκθεσης αποτελεί συνέχεια του διερευνητικού προγράμματος «Δυσλειτουργίες στη σύγχρονη τέχνη», το οποίο αναπτύσσει το Ε.ΚΑ.ΤΕ. από το 2016, με στόχο τη διερεύνηση των συνθηκών που διαμορφώνουν τη σύγχρονη καλλιτεχνική πρακτική και τον ευρύτερο πολιτιστικό λόγο.

Η φετινή έκθεση προτείνει ένα ανοιχτό πλαίσιο δημιουργικής έκφρασης γύρω από τις μορφές αστάθειας, ρήξης και σύγκρουσης που χαρακτηρίζουν τη σύγχρονη εμπειρία. Η έννοια της δυσλειτουργίας προσεγγίζεται όχι μόνο ως κοινωνική ή πολιτική συνθήκη, αλλά και ως πεδίο έντασης ανάμεσα στην πραγματικότητα και την ψευδαίσθηση, στη λογική και το βίωμα, καθώς και στη συνοχή και τον κατακερματισμό.

Οι συμμετέχοντες καλλιτέχνες καλούνται να διερευνήσουν, μέσα από το έργο τους, ζητήματα που αφορούν την πολιτική πραγματικότητα, τα όρια της ελευθερίας της έκφρασης, τις κοινωνικές και ανθρώπινες σχέσεις, καθώς και το περιβαλλοντικό και οικολογικό ζήτημα, όπως αυτά επηρεάζουν τη σύγχρονη ζωή και συνείδηση. Η έκθεση λειτουργεί ως μια ανοιχτή πλατφόρμα πολλαπλών αναγνώσεων και προσεγγίσεων, δίνοντας χώρο σε έργα που ενεργοποιούν τον στοχασμό, την κριτική και τον διάλογο.

Τα εγκαίνια θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Παρασκευή 3 Ιουλίου 2026, στις 19:00, με χαιρετισμό από τον Δήμαρχο Λεμεσού, κ. Γιάννη Αρμεύτη.

Dysfunctionalities in contemporary art / In times of conflict

The Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Apothikes Papadaki hosts a group exhibition bringing together members of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (E.K.A.T.E.), titled Dysfunctionalities in Contemporary Art / In Times of Conflict, curated by Katina Kosta, Rebecca Taki and Georgia Michaelide Saad.

The exhibition builds on the ongoing research programme Dysfunctionalities in Contemporary Art, developed by E.K.A.T.E. since 2016 to explore the conditions that shape contemporary artistic practice and broader cultural discourse.

This year's exhibition proposes an open framework for creative expression centred on forms of instability, rupture and conflict that characterise contemporary experience. The concept of dysfunction is approached not only as a social or political condition, but also as a field of tension between reality and illusion, logic and lived experience, and cohesion and fragmentation.

Through their work, the participating artists are invited to explore issues relating to political reality, the limits of freedom of expression, social and human relationships, as well as environmental and ecological concerns, and the ways these shape contemporary life and consciousness. The exhibition functions as an open platform for multiple interpretations and approaches, creating space for works that encourage reflection, critical engagement and dialogue.

The exhibition opens on Friday, 3 July 2026, at 19:00, with welcoming remarks by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis.

The Neofytos Cultural Organization is delighted to announce the beginning of a new European collaboration with (Association for People with Reduced Mobility, Spain) and its innovative accessibility platform, Spot4Dis.
Spot4Dis is a free European application that helps people with reduced mobility locate accessible parking spaces across Europe, providing navigation tools, local parking information, and reporting features that support independent mobility and social participation.
This partnership is founded on our shared belief that accessibility is not a privilege but a fundamental human right. The ability of every person to move freely, travel, work, participate in cultural life, and engage fully in their community is essential to building truly inclusive societies.
Through this collaboration, we aim to support the mapping and visibility of accessible parking spaces, contributing to the creation of cities that are more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive for both residents and visitors. By bringing together technology, civic engagement, and disability advocacy, we hope to remove barriers that continue to limit the participation of many citizens in everyday life.
At Neofytos, we believe that technology can become a powerful instrument for inclusion when it is designed to serve people and communities. This initiative represents another step towards a Europe where mobility, accessibility, and equal participation know no borders.
This collaboration also forms part of the broader European vision promoted by the Neofytos Cultural Organization and the DIS Festival – Together We Are Better: a vision of a Europe without barriers, where culture, accessibility, innovation, and human dignity go hand in hand.
