Next up in our series is Tanny Tran, Vice President of the Birth Forward Board — pharmacist, midwife and one of the people who has been part of Birth Forward’s journey from the beginning.
"I am a UK-qualified pharmacist, trained at UCL, with professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and as a community pharmacist in London.
Following the birth of my two children, and my own experiences of difficulties with childbirth, breastfeeding and postnatal challenges, I felt inspired to support women through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. Once my children started primary school, I returned to university and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery at City University of London, undertaking my clinical midwifery training at University College London Hospital (UCLH).
I am passionate about supporting and advocating for women throughout their motherhood journey. I believe women should have access to evidence-based information, feel confident asking questions, and be empowered to make informed decisions about their own care and experiences.
I have been a volunteer with Birth Forward since its inception and currently serve as Vice President. Through my work with Birth Forward, I have created and facilitated peer-to-peer support groups in Nicosia and Limassol, providing safe and supportive spaces where women can share and reflect on their birth experiences."
