The Cyprus–Japan Friendship Association attended the reception celebrating the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and had the pleasure of meeting H.E. Ambassador Satoshi Iwasaki.
It was a meaningful evening that highlighted the strong friendship between Cyprus and Japan. We look forward to continuing our efforts to bring our two countries even closer through culture, dialogue, and cooperation. 🇨🇾🇯🇵

🐧🎬 Invitation to Film Screening by the Embassy of Japan in Cyprus🐧🎬

The Embassy of Japan in Cyprus warmly invites the public to a special screening of the Japanese animated film Penguin Highway on Saturday, 15 November, at 18:00 at Rio Cinema (Screen 3) in Limassol.

🆓 Admission is free, and no reservations are required.🆓

🐧 About the Film — Penguin Highway
Directed by Hiroyasu Ishida, the film follows Aoyama, an inquisitive 4th-grade boy who documents everything he learns. His friendship with “The Lady,” a kind and enigmatic assistant at his dentist’s office, becomes intertwined with a strange phenomenon: penguins appearing and disappearing far from the sea.
As Aoyama investigates, he witnesses the impossible — a soda can transforming into a penguin — leading him into a summer filled with mystery, wonder, and discovery.

We encourage all members and friends of the Cyprus–Japan Friendship Association to attend and support this cultural initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Japanese cinema and celebrate the growing friendship between our communities.

🇯🇵 Presentation of Credentials by Ambassador Satoshi Iwasaki 🇨🇾

On 31 October 2025, H.E. Ambassador Satoshi Iwasaki, accompanied by Mrs. Iwasaki, presented his credentials to President Nikos Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace.

Ambassador Iwasaki conveyed a message from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and expressed his commitment to further strengthen the warm friendship between Japan and Cyprus. He shared his admiration for Cyprus’ beauty, history, and the kindness of its people, while highlighting his wish to deepen cooperation in culture, economy, academia, and technology.

We warmly welcome Ambassador Iwasaki and wish him every success in his mission. 🇯🇵🤝🇨🇾
