The Cyprus Refugee Council is interested to hire a motivated individual to join the organisationβs integration team and carry out the tasks of Integration Advisor.
The Integration Advisor will promote effective integration of refugees in the local community. The selected candidate will work directly with refugee individuals and groups in CyRC offices, in the community and in reception Centers, to facilitate access in employment, vocational training and educational opportunities, encourage civic engagement, self-representation and advocacy, enhance social networking and links with local society etc. The Integration Advisor will also utilize digital means, such as social media channels and the βHelp Refugees Workβ an online platform operated by CyRC, connecting refugee job-seekers, employers and training providers in Cyprus.

The Cyprus Refugee Council is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with a focus on refugees, asylum seekers, trafficking victims and survivors of torture. CyRC strives to safeguard, support and advocate for the rights of vulnerable groups in Cyprus as well as promote their effective integration into local society.

Vacancy β Integration Advisor
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join CyRCβs Integration team and will be expected to:
Identify appropriate employment, VET and educational opportunities for refugees by reaching out to related actors.
Provide necessary information, guidance and assistance to refugees, through group and individual meetings as well as reach out activities, to secure employment, VET, educational opportunities and civic engagement. Such tasks include resolving integration and labour related issues, conducting appropriate referrals to jobs and trainings, CV-writing, preparation for interviews, filling-in applications, drafting letters, organizing activities, etc.
Identify, establish and expand networks of employers, training providers, local authorities, refugee-led groups, community actors, Public Services, associations, trade unions, academic and private actors, to address integration challenges and promote collaborations that facilitate labour and local integration of refugees, civic engagement, self-representation of refugee communities, anti-discriminatory and antiracist narratives and practices, refugee-inclusive CSR activities etc.
Represent CyRC in public events, meetings, seminars, consultations etc
Undertake other duties as required.
Academic Qualifications Required
University degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Humanities, Communication
Additional qualifications in job-counselling, labour studies, refugee studies, social support, communication is an asset.
Relevant Experience Required
Over 2 years of experience in job counselling/social support/provision of training.
Experience in working with the refugee population.
Experience in working in a multi-cultural and multi-national context.
Experience in working with stakeholders for purposes of refugee labour inclusion and local integration.
Skills required
Respectful attitude and strong commitment to humanitarian causes.
Excellent command of the Greek and English language; knowledge of an additional language, such as Arabic or French, would be considered an asset.
Excellent writing and drafting skills.
Very good IT skills, including excellent use of word processing and spreadsheet software, strong familiarization with social media, mobile and web-based applications.
Ability to coordinate various activities and partners, including persons of concern, for an optimal use of resources.
Good familiarization with current challenges and opportunities in regard to refugees' integration, CSR status of affairs, labour market situation and realities.
Strong communication and inter-personal skills; team playing; good presentation skills.
