MaxFishing Cyprus Bass Championship 2026 –

Ο τρίτος αγώνας του Παγκυπρίου Πρωταθλήματος Λαυρακιού MaxFishing 2026, διεξήχθη το Σάββατο 16 Μαΐου στο φράγμα της Καλαβασού. Παρ’ όλο που τα αποτελέσματα για αρκετούς δεν ήταν τόσο καλά όσο στις προπονήσεις, εντούτοις ο αγώνας ήταν ο πιο παραγωγικός του φετινού πρωταθλήματος. Συνολικά πιάστηκαν 41 ψάρια εκ των οποίων τα 17 μεγαλύτερα από 40 εκατοστά. Νικητής του αγώνα αναδείχθηκε ο Παντελής Ιωνά, στη δεύτερη θέση τερμάτισε ο Πάμπης Χατζημοιραίος και στην τρίτη θέση ο Χριστόδουλος Σταμάτη. Το μεγαλύτερο ψάρι της ημέρας μήκους 48 εκατοστών πιάστηκε από τον Παντελή Ιωνά.
Μετά το τέλος του αγώνα πραγματοποιήθηκαν οι απονομές για τον δεύτερο αγώνα.

The third competition of the Maxfishing Cyprus Bass Fishing Championship 2026 took place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Kalavasos Dam. Although the results for several anglers were not as good as during practice sessions, the competition was nevertheless the most productive round of this year’s championship. A total of 41 bass were caught, 17 of which measured over 40 centimeters.
The winner of the round was Pantelis Iona, while Bambis Hadjimireos finished in second place and Christodoulos Stamati in third. The biggest fish of the day, measuring 48 centimeters, was also caught by Pantelis Iona.
After the end of the competition, the awards ceremony for the second round of the Championship was held.

Την Παρασκευή 1η Μαΐου 2026, πραγματοποιήθηκε φιλικός, ομαδικός αγώνας ψαρέματος εις μνήμη του πρώην προέδρου και για χρόνια μέλους του Συνδέσμου μας, ‘Φοίβου Παπαχριστοφόρου’. Η εκδήλωση έγινε στο φράγμα Ταμασού, με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση 4 χρόνων από την απώλεια του Φοίβου. Σκοπός της εκδήλωσης ήταν να συγκεντρωθούν άτομα που αγαπούν το ψάρεμα και να περάσουν ένα ευχάριστο απόγευμα ψαρεύοντας μαζί. Παράλληλα, να δοθεί η ευκαιρία σε νέα άτομα να έχουν μια πρώτη επαφή με το ψάρεμα του λαυρακιού στα γλυκά νερά. Η εκδήλωση έχει γίνει πλέον θεσμός και αποτελεί το ιδανικό μνημόσυνο για τον Φοίβο. Στόχος του Συνδέσμου είναι να διεξάγεται κάθε χρόνο τέτοια εποχή στο φράγμα της Ταμασού.
Η όλη εκδήλωση στέφθηκε με επιτυχία, αφού οι πέραν των 45 συμμετεχόντων απόλαυσαν το ψάρεμα στο υπερχειλισμένο φράγμα της Ταμασού.
Για την ιστορία, η νικήτρια ομάδα αναδείχθηκε η ομάδα των Γιώργου Ευσταθίου και Mykhailo Miasnykov. Στη δεύτερη θέση τερμάτισαν οι Νικόλας Αναστασάκης, Γιώργος Αναστασάκης και Αντριανός Ιωαννίδης, ενώ τρίτοι τερμάτισαν οι Αναστάσιος, Γιώργος και Χρήστος Χρυσοστόμου.
Ευχαριστούμε όλους όσους συμμετείχαν στην εκδήλωση και τίμησαν με αυτόν τον τρόπο τη μνήμη του Φοίβου.

On Friday, May 1st, 2026, a friendly team fishing competition was held in memory of our Assosiation’s former president and long-time member, Phivos Papachristoforou. The event took place at the Tamasos Dam, marking the 4th anniversary of Phivos' passing. The purpose of the event was to gather people who love fishing and allow them to spend a pleasant afternoon fishing together. Additionally, it aimed to give young people the opportunity to have their first experience of bass fishing in freshwater. The event has now become an annual tradition and serves as the ideal memorial for Phivos. The Association's goal is to organize it every year around this time at the Tamasos Dam.
The event was a success, with over 45 participants enjoying fishing at the overflowing Tamasos Dam.
For the record, the winning team consisted of Giorgos Efstathiou and Mykhailo Miasnykov. In second place were Nikolas Anastasakis, Giorgos Anastasakis, and Andrianos Ioannidis, while third place went to Anastasios, Giorgos, and Christos Chrysostomou.

Το Σάββατο 25 Απριλίου 2026 ο Σύνδεσμος διοργάνωσε επίδειξη ψαρέματος στα μέλη της ψαρευτικής ομάδας Fish n’ Hooks της Αμερικανικής Ακαδημίας Λάρνακας (American Academy Larnaca). Η εκδήλωση πραγματοποιήθηκε στον υδατοφράκτη Καλαβασού και περιλάμβανε εισαγωγή στο ψάρεμα στα γλυκά νερά και παρουσίαση των τεχνικών της αντένας και του spinning. Οι μαθητές που συμμετείχαν στην εκδήλωση μεταξύ άλλων, είχαν την ευκαιρία να μάθουν τα είδη ψαριών στα γλυκά νερά τις Κύπρου, τις βασικές τεχνικές ψαρέματος καθώς και τη σημασία του “Catch & Release’. Στην εκδήλωση συμμετείχαν ο φίλος Κώστας Κέζος με την ομάδα του (KZ Handmade Lures) και εκπρόσωποι του Τμήματος αλιείας! Ευχαριστούμε θερμά όσους παραβρέθηκαν και βοήθησαν στην εκδήλωση. Είμαστε σίγουροι ότι αυτή είναι η αρχή μιας νέας συνεργασίας που θα γίνει θεσμός τα επόμενα χρόνια! Είναι χαρά μας να μεταφέρουμε τις γνώσεις και τις εμπειρίες μας στους νέους!

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Association organized a fishing demonstration for the members of the Fish n’ Hooks fishing team of the American Academy Larnaca.
The event took place at Kalavasos Dam and included an introduction to freshwater fishing, as well as a presentation of float fishing and spinning techniques.
The students who participated had the opportunity, among other things, to learn about freshwater fish species in Cyprus, basic fishing techniques, and the importance of “Catch & Release”.
The event was attended by our friend Kostas Kezos and his team (KZ Handmade Lures), as well as representatives from the Fisheries Department.
We would like to warmly thank everyone who attended and supported the event. We are confident that this is the beginning of a new collaboration that will become a tradition in the years to come. It is our pleasure to share our knowledge and experience with the younger generation.

MaxFishing Cyprus Bass Championship 2026 –

Ο δεύτερος αγώνας του Παγκυπρίου Πρωταθλήματος Λαυρακιού MaxFishing 2026, διεξήχθη την Κυριακή 19 Απριλίου στο φράγμα του Κούρη. Οι διαγωνιζόμενοι είχαν την επιλογή να εκκινήσουν σε ένα από τα 3 σημεία εκκίνησης. Συνολικά πιάστηκαν 36 ψάρια ενώ μόνο 2 αθλητές κατάφεραν να πιάσουν το όριο των 5 ψαριών. Νικητής του αγώνα αναδείχθηκε ο Νικόλας Αναστασάκης, στη δεύτερη θέση τερμάτισε ο Γιάννης Σιήττας και στην τρίτη θέση ο Αναστάσιος Χρυσοστόμου. Ο Νικόλας Αναστασάκης, ο Λάζαρος Λεοντιάδης και ο Pavlo Vykhodtsev κατάφεραν να πιάσουν το μεγαλύτερο ψάρι της ημέρας μήκους 44 εκατοστών.
Μετά το τέλος του αγώνα πραγματοποιήθηκαν οι απονομές για τον πρώτο αγώνα.

The second competition of the Maxfishing Cyprus Bass Fishing Championship 2026 took place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Kouris Dam. Athletes had the option to start from one of three starting points. A total of 36 fish were caught, while only 2 athletes managed to reach the limit of 5 fish. The winner of the day was Nicholas Anastasakis, with Yiannis Siittas finishing in second place and Anastasios Chrysostomou in third. Nicholas Anastasakis, Lazaros Leontiades and Pavlo Vykhodtsev managed to catch the largest fish of the day, measuring 44 centimeters in length.
After the end of the competition, the awards ceremony for the first round of the Championship was held.

Ο πρώτος αγώνας του Παγκυπρίου Πρωταθλήματος Λαυρακιού MaxFishing 2026, ήταν διήμερος και πραγματοποιήθηκε το Σαββατοκύριακο 21 και 22 Μαρτίου στους φράκτες της Ευρέτου και Κανναβιού αντίστοιχα. Ο άστατος καιρός κατά τη διάρκεια του διήμερου σε συνδυασμό με την απότομη αύξηση της στάθμης του νερού λόγω της μεγάλης εισροής συνέβαλαν στην περιορισμένη κινητικότητα των ψαριών και δυσχέραιναν την προσπάθεια των αθλητών. Συνολικά πιάστηκαν μόνο 19 ψάρια, 17 την πρώτη μέρα στην Ευρέτου και μόλις 2 στην Κανναβιού. Νικητής του αγώνα αναδείχθηκε ο Νικόλας Αναστασάκης, στη δεύτερη θέση τερμάτισε ο Γιώργος Ευσταθίου και στην τρίτη θέση ο Λάζαρος Λεοντιάδης. Ο Νικόλας Αναστασάκης και ο Γιώργος Ευσταθίου κατάφεραν να πιάσουν το μεγαλύτερο ψάρι της ημέρας μήκους 46 εκατοστών.

The first competition of the Maxfishing Cyprus Bass Fishing Championship 2026 took place on the weekend of March 21 and 22 at Evretou and Kannaviou dams, respectively. The unsettled weather during the weekend, combined with the sudden rise in water levels due to the large inflow, contributed to the limited activity of the fish and made the athletes’ efforts more difficult. Overall, only 19 fish were caught—17 on the first day at Evretou and just 2 at Kannaviou.
The winner of the competition was Nicholas Anastasakis, while George Efstathiou finished in second place and Lazaros Leontiades in third. Nicholas Anastasakis and George Efstathou managed to catch the largest fish of the day, measuring 46 centimeters in length.

Πραγματοποιήθηκε με επιτυχία το Σάββατο 28/02/2026, το σεμινάριο του Συνδέσμου με τίτλο «Μεγαλόστομο Λαυράκι – Ο Αυτοκράτορας των Κυπριακών Φραγμάτων». Το σεμινάριο επικεντρώθηκε στις συνήθειες, τον τρόπο ζωής και τη βιολογία του μεγαλόστομου λαυρακιού και διεξήχθη στον χώρο του χορηγού μας, Maxfishing Cyprus, στη Λευκωσία.
Ομιλητής ήταν ο Ρολάνδος Κωνσταντινίδης, ιδρυτικό μέλος του Συνδέσμου και πτυχιούχος βιολογίας, ο οποίος μοιράστηκε με τους παρευρισκόμενους σημαντικές πληροφορίες και προσωπικές εμπειρίες σχετικά με το μεγαλόστομο λαυράκι.
Ευχαριστούμε όλους όσους παρευρέθηκαν και υποσχόμαστε να συνεχίσουμε με τον ίδιο ζήλο να προσφέρουμε ευκαιρίες μάθησης και να μοιραζόμαστε τις γνώσεις μας.

The Association’s seminar titled “Largemouth Bass – The Emperor of Cyprus Dams” was successfully held on Saturday, 28/02/2026. The seminar focused on the habits, lifestyle, and biology of the largemouth bass and took place at our sponsor Maxfishing Cyprus in Nicosia.
The speaker was Rolandos Constantinides, founding member of the Association and a biology graduate, who shared with attendees valuable information and personal experiences regarding the largemouth bass.
We thank everyone who attended and promise to continue with the same enthusiasm, offering learning opportunities and sharing our knowledge.
