🎉 Larnaka recommended as European Capital of Culture 2030! 🎭

On 11 December 2025, Larnaka was officially recommended to become Cyprus’ European Capital of Culture 2030, following the evaluation of an independent panel of experts.

On 11 December 2025, the chairperson of the European Capitals of Culture Expert Panel announced that the city of Larnaka has been recommended to become the European Capital of Culture 2030 in Cyprus.

The European Commission has proposed its first-ever European Affordable Housing Plan to support Member States, regions, and cities in increasing housing supply, promoting sustainable investment, and helping those most affected by the housing crisis.

EU agrees on a 2040 Climate target📢

EU-funded construction works have started on the first phase of the Pedieos River / Kanlıdere Rehabilitation Project in Nicosia.

Implemented by UNDP, the project will create safer walking and cycling paths, greener public spaces and improved connectivity across the city — supporting sustainability, peacebuilding and everyday interaction.

Construction is underway on the first phase of the Pedieos River/Kandelire rehabilitation project, a major EU-backed effort to turn the river corridor into a vibrant space for recreation and cross-community interaction in Nicosia.

The European Commission has released €2.3 million in advance support to Cyprus to kick-start recovery after the July 2025 wildfires. The funding will help restore schools, healthcare facilities and other critical infrastructure in affected areas of Limassol and Paphos, while the full aid request is still under assessment.

On the 28th of November, the Director of Association for Historical Dialogue and Research Loizos Loukaidis and Home for Cooperation Project Officer İlsu Çağra attended the Youth Work Conference, organised by IDEP and the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK) at the Hilton Hotel Nicosia.

They highlighted the meaningful work both organisations carry out with and for young people, creating inclusive spaces, fostering dialogue, and empowering youth to learn, connect, and actively shape their communities.

Thank you to the organisers for bringing the youth sector together!🤝
