The following text as shared by Kyriacos, Filippos and Freideriki who represented Y.E.S Cyprus - Youth Empowered Society Cyprus in the recent project "Step into the Role", which took place in Malta 🇨🇾🇲🇹
"From 5–12 August 2026, we had the amazing opportunity, as the Cypriot team, to take part in the Erasmus+ training course «Step into the Role» in Marsaxlokk, Malta, together with 29 youth workers and youth leaders from 8 countries. 🇪🇺
Hosted by the Malta UNESCO Youth Association, the training explored how improvisation, roleplay and immersive learning can be used as powerful tools in youth work. 🎭
Throughout the week, we stepped outside our comfort zones, developed our facilitation and improvisation skills, took part in roleplay and Nano-LARP activities, and discovered new methods that we can bring back and use with young people in our communities.
🌍 Beyond the workshops, the international and intercultural experience was one of the highlights. We exchanged experiences, discovered different perspectives on youth work and built friendships and connections that we hope will continue long after the project.
🇨🇾 We were also proud to represent Cyprus during the Intercultural Evening, sharing our culture, traditions and food while discovering what makes each participating country unique.
💡 We return home with new tools, new perspectives, new connections and unforgettable memories — ready to put what we learned into practice.
8 countries. 29 participants. One shared learning journey.🌍
Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible!
Until the next Erasmus+ adventure! ✈️💙"
