It's been almost a year since Max flew to his home in Scotland. We receive regular updates on him and he fills us with pride every time.
This is the true reward in rescue. Our joy comes from seeing lead a full life. ❤️

HE SURVIVED BEING LEFT TO DIE. NOW HE IS SLOWLY BREAKING IN THE SHELTER.

Bruno fought his way back from being found half-conscious on the roadside.

And now this funny, cheeky, affectionate, people-obsessed boy is stuck behind bars with nowhere near enough space, movement or stimulation for a dog like him.

Bruno is active. Curious. Playful. He wants to run, explore, be involved, be touched, be loved. Instead, day after day, all that energy and personality has nowhere to go.

And he struggles. He suffers.

Bruno is wonderful with adults and children and absolutely lives for human company. He needs an active home, proper exercise, attention, companionship and a life that actually feels like living.

He must be the only dog/pet in the home.

He already survived being thrown away once. Please don’t let the shelter become the rest of his story.

World Animal Day reminds us of something simple and profound:
that every life has a story, and every story deserves a chance to continue in love.
In our shelter today, there are dogs who have carried more than their share of loneliness. Dogs who once had families and lost them. Dogs who have never known what it feels like to fall asleep in a home where someone whispers “goodnight.” Dogs who still greet every visitor with hope, even after hope has let them down before.
They don’t know it’s World Animal Day.
But they know they are waiting
Waiting for someone who sees them not as “a shelter dog,” but as a soul.

🚨 WE ARE AT THE EDGE 🚨

This is an urgent situation. The future of our dogs' daily care depends on us finding a FULL-TIME DOG CARETAKER as soon as possible.

This position cannot remain vacant. Without a dedicated full-time caretaker, we are at serious risk of being unable to provide the consistent daily care, medication, cleaning and attention our dogs need and deserve.

🐾 We need someone who can start as soon as possible.

📍 Location: Finikaria, Limassol

🕒 Schedule:
• 6 days per week
• 8:00am – 4:00pm

💶 Salary: €1,300 net per month

🐾 Main Duties:
• Feeding
• Administering medication
• Cleaning kennels and surrounding areas
• Interacting and socialising with the dogs
• Administrative work

✅ Requirements:
• Previous experience with dogs is essential
• Must be confident handling and caring for large dogs
• Must be hardworking, reliable and physically fit
• Must have own transportation
• Applicants must be European citizens or already have the legal right to work in Cyprus. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide work visas.

Full training will be provided to the right person.

You already know Bert’s story.

His brother got his home. His mum got hers. And somehow, Bert is still here.

And we genuinely don’t understand why.

Because Bert isn’t shy, difficult or complicated. He’s a tiny, ridiculously happy little dog who LOVES people, loves to play, loves attention and seems determined to squeeze as much fun as possible out of every day.

He is pure joy in a very small body. ❤️

He has watched his family leave one by one. Surely it has to be Bert’s turn now.

Someone out there is missing one seriously happy little dog.

Every morning they get their turn in the playground. It's my favorite time of the day because for about 30 minutes I can pretend that they have some sort of life worth living. For 30 minutes they are happy, living in the moment and I get carried away watching them. They are perfect. The perfect pair. For 30 minutes life is perfect.
Is that the best we can do for them? Why is it so ridiculously difficult to find Kosta and Stella a home? WHY?!
8 years waiting. It will never be OK until they get to experience life outside of a cage permanently. PLEASE keep sharing.

REX UPDATE
10 days post surgery and Rex finally had his elizabethan collar REMOVED 🥳.
He is sooooo much happier now.
Despite going through an evasive procedure Rex was a champ. Now we wait for the biopsy results with baited breath 🤞.
