you walk into a room full of people you’ve never met before, and somewhere in between, you start to care. You listen more carefully, think a little deeper before speaking and begin to understand perspectives that, just days ago, felt distant. Empathy then shows up quielty: in conversations, late nights and the moments that make it all feel shared.
This is what i found at EYP — and over the past few days at EYP Cyprus in particular. Mirroring the session’s theme, We 4 EU, this project captures the natural moments where connection turns into something more.
4 × 4 reflects four intentions, layered through moments that make them real:
4 EU, 4 people, 4 each other, 4 youth. for four days, in our case. and hopefully, for a little longer, too.

We each have our own EYP journey, shaped by the people we met and the moments we didn’t expect to matter so much. So hold on to the memories, and carry them with you wherever you go.

In Germany we have a special word “Marmeladenglasmomente”. It describes moments that are so special to us that we keep them in an empty jam jar, so that they are stored at a safe place we can always access. EYP creates many of these moments. Whether it’s the friendships you make, the things you learn, the emotions you feel, or the challenges you overcome, EYP is more than just a learning experience, it’s an adventure with its own jar of diversity. But how much influence can one session have on us? How are we feeling a session? What moments should we put into our jar? In this video I tried to capture the magic of EYP sessions and the people being a part of it, for they are so much more than just simulations of the European parliaments, they are colorful Marmeladenglasmomente. And what better style to do so than with Wes Anderson’s style!
