One year ago today, two tiny, sick kittens were dumped over our sanctuary fence and left to fend for themselves.

We took them in, nursed them back to health, and gave them the love and care they desperately needed.

Today, 𝗦𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆 and 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 are beautiful, healthy, friendly 𝟭-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 but despite all this time, they have had 𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁.

We see it far too often. Kittens grow into adults and are sadly overlooked, spending years in sanctuary care waiting for a home.

𝗦𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆 and 𝗚𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 deserve better. They are affectionate, gorgeous cats who would make wonderful family pets or companions.

💊 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞 💊

This photo shows just one order of essential veterinary supplies.

Total cost: €𝟯𝟬𝟰

Included are:
• Tick and flea collars for our newly arrived dogs
• Monthly parasite treatment tablets for our smaller dogs (a more comfortable option than wearing collars for six months)
• Sterile woven swabs for wound care
• Emergency horse medications including antibiotics, pain relief and colic treatment

These aren’t extras. They’re 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Every new dog that arrives brings additional costs, and the bills never stop. Despite being a registered rescue, we receive 𝗻𝗼 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 and rely heavily on public support to continue.

The reality is that we often use our own personal finances to cover what the rescue needs, but we cannot do this alone.

✨𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: 𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗬 ✨

“After I lost my first rescue dog three years ago, under quite traumatic circumstances. I promised myself I would never rescue again. It took me three years to realise that, I had enough space in my heart to love another dog.

And along came 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘆, Moonacre were nothing but amazing through the whole process! I fell in love with 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘆 the moment I laid eyes on him, and a couple of weeks later he was here with me in the UK.

He is the most loving dog, the biggest blessing and I am forever in Moonacres debt for introducing me to him.

They are so thorough and caring and you can tell, they put 110% into caring for their animals.

My fiancé was deployed a few short weeks after we got 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘆 and he has been my purpose, lifted me up when I’ve been sad, kept me busy and laughing with his cheeky ways! He has stolen every heart that meets him.

🐴 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗨𝗚𝗘! 🐴

Anyone who knows 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅 knows just how significant this moment is.

𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅 has lived with deep trauma for many years and, as a result, has struggled enormously around people.

Over the years, we’ve worked patiently and consistently to help him feel safer, always moving at his pace and respecting his boundaries.

So to see 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅 not only allow a complete stranger to stroke him, but actually choose to walk up to them himself, is a massive milestone. 💛

Moments like this may seem small to some, but for 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅 they represent years of trust-building, patience, and healing.

We’re incredibly proud of him and grateful to everyone who has helped him on his journey. Today, 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘅 showed us just how far he’s come. ✨

💘 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗖𝗥𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥 💘

Over the past 15 days, we’ve introduced you to 𝟭𝟱 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 - each with their own personality, story and hope for a forever home.

And while we love them all dearly, the truth is simple:

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆.

MoonAcre is a place of safety, healing and second chances… but it was never meant to be forever.

As much as we adore them, they shouldn’t grow up or grow old here as one of 40–50 dogs. They deserve to be someone’s dog.

They deserve a home where they are greeted at the door, curl up on a sofa, and head out on adventures - whether that’s beach walks, countryside strolls or a trip to the local pub 🐾

They deserve routine.
They deserve belonging.
They deserve their own person, their own space, their own life.

So today we ask one final favour:
