We are a registered sanctuary in Cyprus, devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses, dogs, cats, and all creatures great and small.

We are a safe sanctuary for rescued animals, including horses, pigs, dogs, cats and birds. 💙 𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗼𝗯 💙

We were so touched to hear from Karin Stanier, who adopted our lovely 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗵 many years ago and renamed him 𝗕𝗼𝗯.

𝗕𝗼𝗯 sadly passed away in July this year, after around 10 wonderful years with Karin and his family. We’re heartbroken to hear that he is no longer with them, but so grateful that he got to spend those years surrounded by love and a family of his own.

Karin has very kindly donated 𝗕𝗼𝗯’s dog coats to MoonAcre, so that other rescue dogs can now benefit from something that belonged to a 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵-𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘆. 🐾

🐾 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲! 🐾

We’re very happy to say that our brave girl is 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 following her surgery. 🥹

She’s feeling tired and doesn’t have much appetite at the moment, but this is to be expected after everything her little body has been through.

To help with her recovery, we’ve used some of the funds raised through 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 to buy 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 a few things to make her more comfortable - including a cooling mat, a cosy blanket and lots of cans of Lily’s Kitchen to tempt her appetite.

This is exactly why the extra income from easyfundraising is so valuable to MoonAcre. It means when an unexpected need arises, we can respond quickly and get our animals what they need.

🐾 𝗔 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 🐾

𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 came to us paralysed, and it was either MoonAcre or euthanasia.

We got her into wheels and, through building her strength and with 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮‘s incredible determination, she eventually got out of her wheels and learned to walk again.

But she has continued to struggle with her hind legs and has had a problem with one back leg throughout this year. Her most recent injury has not healed, and long-term open wounds can become extremely painful and life-threatening.

After everything she has overcome, the vets have decided that the kindest thing for 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 is to amputate the leg.

The surgery will cost €𝟮𝟬𝟬, so we’re holding a little fundraiser to help cover it.

🐾 𝟭𝟰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 🐾

While we’re celebrating every dog that’s found a forever home this year, there are still 𝟭𝟰 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 at MoonAcre waiting for someone to choose them.

Each one has their own personality, their own story, and so much love to give. They just keep hoping that one day it will be their turn.

At MoonAcre, we do everything we can to prepare our dogs for life in a home. They learn to walk nicely on a lead, travel in the car, meet new people, and experience everyday life, giving them the very best start when their family comes along.

But no matter how much love and care we give them, nothing can replace having a family of their own.

𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿?

🐾 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗚𝗔𝗗𝗢 🐾

Just two months ago, 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗼 was found at a petrol station, concussed, limping, and with a split tongue. As such a handsome German Shepherd, we were certain someone would be looking for him, but despite our best efforts, no owner ever came forward.

Today, 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗼 had another trip to the vets, where he was his usual brave (if slightly wimpy!) self. He had a full blood panel carried out, and we’re delighted to say everything came back looking great.

𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗼 is everything you’d want in a loyal companion. He’s fantastic with both small and large dogs, loves hopping in the car for an adventure, and is happiest when he’s right by your side. In fact, if you’re looking for a dog that will follow you everywhere… we mean everywhere… even to the bathroom, 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗼 is your boy!

He’s a big softie who adores cuddles, loves carrying soft toys and tug toys around, and has one hilarious habit… he can’t resist digging up flowers, whether they’re real or fake! 🤣🌼

After everything he’s been through, 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗼 is simply looking for someone to love with his whole heart.

🐾 𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆? 🐾

𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆 arrived at MoonAcre as a tiny blind puppy, and just look at her now!
Despite her blindness, 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆 has never let anything hold her back, and we were so incredibly happy when she found the most wonderful forever family back in 2021.

We were also delighted to receive a lovely donation of harnesses (as modelled by Bella and Sam) from 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆 and Kimberley Anne. Your kindness will help so many of our dogs as they wait for their own forever homes.
