Friends of Larnaca Cats We support the many cat communities in the areas of St Lazarus, Mackenzie Beach, old airport and Larnaca Salt Lakes. Many cats are sick or need neutering

Friends of Larnaca Cats is a small group of dedicated volunteer animal lovers. We came together because we are concerned about the condition of stray, street and feral cats in our area, many of whom live in dire conditions, struggling to survive off the food they are able to scavenge. Currently the government neutering campaigns are totally inadequate and cannot keep up with the number of feral an

d stray cats needing neutering and so cats are stuck in an ongoing cycle of breeding. Life for feral cats is short and full of risk from injury, disease and starvation. There is a shocking death toll amongst young kittens.We support the many cat communities, abandoned cats, feral and street cats and kittens in the Larnaca area. We feed them, give them medical treatment when required, vaccinate and treat them for parasites. Our Trap-Neuter-Release programme "Nicked and Proud" allows us to start stabilising the feral populations where we work by catching cats, taking them to a vet for neutering, and returning them to their community. We focus on the St Lazarus, Mackenzie Beach and Salt Lake areas of Larnaca. Friends of Larnaca Cats is heavily reliant on donations. Whether it be from our own pockets or from our generous benefactors, we are grateful to every single person who helps by donating to our appeals. Our shelter near Alethriko, Cyprus is currently caring for many cats and kittens, and we desperately need more helping hands. ❤️

We are looking for reliable volunteers who are mobile and can help 1–2 times a week with feeding, cleaning and caring for our cats.

No experience needed – we will show you everything. 🐱

Even a few hours a week would make a huge difference to our cats and our team. 🙏🏼

Eddie is ready to find his forever home! 🐾❤️

This adorable little boy was sadly dumped at a very young age at one of our feeding colonies. Thankfully, he was quickly taken into foster care, where he has blossomed into the sweetest little character. 🥰

Eddie gets along brilliantly with all the other cats and kittens in his foster home. He loves running around, exploring, and getting into all kinds of mischief as he discovers the big wide world! 😹

When he’s not busy causing chaos, Eddie enjoys a good cuddle with his foster mum — and, of course, he’s also a little foodie! 🐖😂

At just 3.5 months old, Eddie is fully vaccinated and ready for his next adventure. ✈️ He is currently in Cyprus but can travel to the UK or EU, where he will arrive with his pet passport and everything needed for his journey.

Now all Eddie needs is a loving family to call his own. 🏡❤️

Larnaca has been fortunate for a number of years to have 2 hospitals..."Old " near the centre of Town and "New" on the outskirts.
Services have gradually transferred from Old to New and the once beautiful Old Hospital buildings are now derelict.
What does this have to do with Friends of Larnaca Cats you may ask...
There is a small colony of cats living amongst the derelict buildings.
Demolition work starts on the buildings in the next few days and feeders are concerned about the cats.
To that end Friends of Larnaca Cats has offered shelter to 5 of the more friendly cats. We have already taken in 6 more over the last few months and the few remaining cats are just about impossible to catch :(
They can come to the Shelter and live there and be safe until adopted. However before they can be mixed with our existing cats they need 2 weeks quarantine, microchip, vaccination and flea and worm treatments. Keeping these cats in cages at the shelter during this heat is very difficult, so 3 of our local vets have offered to accommodate them for the 2 week quarantine.
This isn't free of course, one of the feeders has made a very generous donation towards these costs, but we still need a further 300€. So are setting up an appeal to help rescue these cats.

Meet Bertie😻

Bertie is now ready to find his forever home! This sweet, adorable 4 month old kitten loves playing with his siblings and has the gentlest nature.

He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but his curious personality soon takes over, and before long he'll be exploring, playing, and asking for affection. Bertie is a loving little boy who will make a wonderful companion for a patient and caring family🥰

Bertie is fully vaccinated and is currently in Cyprus. He can travel to the UK or anywhere in the EU, arriving with his pet passport and everything he needs for a safe journey✈️

Hobi & Jay have officially found their forever home! 🏡

A huge thank you to the amazing FOLC team for taking such wonderful care of them at the shelter, and to Sheri for rescuing Jay after he was abandoned. ❤️

Our handsome boy Tango is ready to find his forever home! 🐾

Tango is just 3.5 months old, fully vaccinated, and ready to travel to the UK or anywhere in the EU ✈️

He is currently living in a loving foster home alongside his sister, Mimi. Tango will soon undergo eye surgery, but his disability certainly doesn't hold him back! He's a happy, playful little boy who loves running around, chasing toys, and playing with his sister. When playtime is over, he's more than happy to curl up for lots of snuggles with his foster mum.🥰

Tango is a big fluffy bundle of love who is described as gentle, friendly, and great with other cats.

Meet Princess 👑 – she's ready to find her forever home!😺

Princess is 4 months old, fully vaccinated, and ready to meet her forever family.

Princess was rescued after being found trapped inside a drain pipe. Despite her difficult start in life, she has grown into a sweet, playful kitten. She gets along wonderfully with the other kittens around her and, while she can be a little shy when meeting new people, her curiosity quickly wins over her nerves. Like any kitten her age, she loves to explore, play with toys, and is always happy to be won over with tasty treats!😹

Princess is available for adoption in the UK and EU. She will travel with her pet passport and everything she needs for a safe and comfortable journey.✈️

George 2 is now looking for his forever home! 🏡💙

Isn't he just the cutest little guy? 🥹

George is currently thriving in a loving foster home where he happily lives with other cats 🐈 and even a dog 🐶 he gets along brilliantly with everyone! He's a sweet, affectionate kitten who enjoys cuddles with his foster family and doesn't mind being handled at all. 🤗

We don't know much about George's life before he came into our care, but we do know he was found hiding inside a car engine. Sadly, he had already lost one of his eyes. Despite this, George doesn't let anything hold him back! 💪 He races around the house, plays with all his toys, keeps up with the other cats, and is always on the lookout for his next little adventure (or bit of mischief! 😹).

George is approximately 4 months old and vaccinated. He is currently in Cyprus but can travel to the UK or EU, He'll travel with his pet passport and everything he needs for a safe journey. ✈️

George's story didn't start out easy. He and his siblings were abandoned when they were just tiny babies, far too young to survive on their own. Thankfully, one of our amazing volunteers stepped in and lovingly bottle fed them until they were strong enough to eat by themselves.

Now, George is a happy, healthy 4 month old kitten who is more than ready to find a family of his own. 🥰

Like any kitten, George is full of fun and mischief! He loves zooming around, playing with toys, snuggling up for cuddles... and, of course, FOOD!
😸

George is fully vaccinated and currently in Cyprus, but he can travel to the UK or anywhere in the EU. He will arrive with his pet passport and everything needed for a safe journey.✈️
