Update on the dog called Brown. You will have seen the reel we posted yesterday showing him when he was first found and what an awful state he was in.
This poor dog was found struggling on the streets, he was starving and had a old break to one of his front legs. Thanks to the lady who found him and also our friends at Patiler Derneği he was rescued and is now receiving treatment at our rescue centre here in North Cyprus.
He is responding well to antibiotics and is also putting on weight. In a couple of weeks he will have another blood test at the vets and if his bloods are normal, that leg will be amputated. As it's such an old break, sadly it is not repairable.
We will of course post updates once we have further news to report on his progress.

A happy homing story for Thursday!
Two lucky dogs, Alana and Layla, left the shelter a few days ago to travel to their new lives in Switzerland. Here they are setting off from Ercan for their long journey to a new loving home.

Following on from World Animal Day on Sunday, we were delighted to receive a visit from the staff and pupils at Dr. Suat Gunsel Girne Koleji yesterday morning.
They kindly donated food for the animals in our care and spent time learning about animal welfare. It was lovely to see how keen they all were to learn about our work caring for the dogs and cats that don't have a home.
After the visit they paid a visit to our shop to see how we raise some of our funds and what other donations we receive beside money and food. It helped to give the staff and students a bigger picture of what KAR does.

A few more photos of the lovely volunteers who came to help us and walk dogs on Sunday's World Animal Day. We were really grateful for all the donations of food and bedding that they brought with them, much appreciated!
It was great to see you all and hope to see you again very soon!
We would also like to thank our friends at Altın Patiler Derneği for their support - it's very much appreciated by all at KAR.
