Our CDSA members enjoyed a truly inspiring day of art, culture, tradition, and authentic Cypriot hospitality.
Our journey began with a visit to the Nikos Kouroussis Foundation Museum in Mitsero, where we explored the remarkable legacy of one of Cyprus' distinguished contemporary artists.
We then continued to the peaceful Women's Monastery of St. Panteleimon in Acheras, enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Cypriot countryside, with a brief stop at the striking Red Lake of Mitsero.
The day concluded at Riverland Bio Farm, where participants experienced the traditional art of making halloumi cheese, followed by a delicious tasting of freshly prepared halloumi and anari.
A wonderful opportunity to discover Cyprus' rich cultural heritage, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories together.

Our CDSA Art Group had a memorable visit to the outstanding exhibition "On the Island of Circe" by the acclaimed Cypriot artist Konstantinos Kyrtis.

Based on the subject of Circe (Kirki), the powerful enchantress in Ancient Greek mythology, Konstantinos masterfully pictorially explores the theme for our appreciation.

Konstantinos' work has been rewarded with prizes in numerous international Art competitions and has furthermore been invited to participate as a judge at a biennial European competition. He is known for his love of figurative art through the depiction of portraits and allegorical themes. His paintings figure in important private collections as well as in several museums (e.g. the MEAM museum in Barcelona).
In Cyprus we are proud of his successes and congratulate him on his achievements.
Our heartfelt thanks to the artist for warmly welcoming the CDSA Art Group and sharing with us an inspiring and unforgettable cultural experience.

A Morning in Sophie's Magical World.

After much anticipation and excitement, one warm morning the CDSA Art Group stepped into Sophie's enchanting world.
Our talented friend, Sophie Adamou, warmly welcomed us into her stunning village home in the old Ayios Omologites quarter of Nicosia—a traditional residence beautifully reimagined with elegance and character. As is so often the case, one never knows what lies beyond an old doorway. Behind these doors, we discovered a beautiful, light-filled home lovingly created by Sophie and her family, as well as the artist's own magical creative sanctuary.
Although Sophie's academic background is in Management Sciences and Information Systems, and her professional career included both information technology and commercial banking, her artistic spirit ultimately found its true calling—to the delight of everyone fortunate enough to experience her work.
Among her most captivating creations are her distinctive ceramic dolls, though her artistic talent extends far beyond them. Speaking about her SO SOPHIE dolls, the artist shares:
"I lovingly sculpt my dolls out of air-dry clay and decorate them with acrylic paints, water-soluble crayons and pencils, paint pens, sometimes glitter and sparkles, but always with a touch of magic!"
Sophie's gracious hospitality perfectly reflected her creativity, warmth, and generosity. We are deeply grateful for such an inspiring and memorable morning, during which she opened not only the doors of her home but also those of her artistic universe, sharing with us her inspiration, imagination, and craftsmanship.
This gathering was especially meaningful, as it marked the very first visit of our Art Group to Sophie's home and studio, where many of our members instantly fell in love with her remarkable work.

✨ From Our CDSA Archives
As we continue sharing memorable moments from previous CDSA events, we look back on a truly special February morning spent in the heart of Nicosia.
Our Art Group had the privilege of visiting the Telemachos Kanthos Foundation, a non-profit cultural foundation dedicated to preserving and promoting the artistic legacy of the renowned Cypriot painter and engraver, Telemachos Kanthos.
We are sincerely grateful to the Foundation for reopening its doors especially for our group. We were warmly welcomed by Eleni and Evgenia Kanthos, daughters of the artist, together with Ayis Ioannides, whose generosity and hospitality made the visit truly memorable. Evgenia guided us through the beautiful collection, sharing fascinating stories behind her father's works.
A highlight of the morning was an unforgettable musical performance by our friend and diplomatic colleague Ángeles Iglesias from the Embassy of Brazil, together with Ayis Ioannides, the first Director of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. They delighted us with a special four-hands arrangement of Ayis' original composition, Notturno, creating a magical moment that perfectly complemented the artistic atmosphere.
Our visit concluded with coffee and refreshments in the Foundation's garden, providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy wonderful conversations and friendship.
Thank you to everyone who made this inspiring cultural experience so special.
With appreciation to Rosie Pirishis and Roula Papadopoulos, Art Group Leaders.

🌍 International Lunch

Special thanks to our incredible hosts H.E. Ambassador Plomp of The Netherlands and his wife Henriette for welcoming us to their residence for the CDSA’s final event this season.

Our Patron, First Lady Mrs Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, who made a brief speech praising the CDSA, as well as our Honorary President Mrs Maria Hadjisolomou Kombos, honoured us with their presence.

Our International Lunch was a huge success, bringing together members and distinguished guests for a day of friendship and shared traditions. As always, everyone contributed a traditional dish from their home country, creating an extraordinary international feast that reflected the rich cultural diversity of our association.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day so memorable.

We look forward to the new season so stay tuned as big plans are ahead! 🌍❤️🥂

From the CDSA ART archive😍
Art Group spent a wonderful morning at the solo show, In the Footsteps of the Masters, of Michele Ansermet Papadopoulos' latest work.

We will share with you here a few photos of the event, as a picture is worth a thousand words...

A special thanks to Michele, the artist, a lovely longtime friend living in Paphos. Our appreciation also goes to Mélina and Anthi from the gorgeous Alpha C. K. Gallery for their kind hospitality.
