As part of Curaçao Museum Week, visitors gathered at NAAM for the screening of Su Solo ta Grandi, a documentary exploring the life and work of Elis Juliana. The evening opened with music by Sorandy St. Jacobs and continued with a panel discussion featuring Rose Mary Allen, Sorandy St. Jacobs, and Alexine Gabriela.

Together, they reflected on the lasting impact of Elis Juliana’s work, the importance of cultural heritage, and how knowledge is passed from one generation to the next.

Step into a day of stories, heritage, discovery, and connection during Curaçao Museum Week at NAAM on Saturday, 23 May 2026. From documentaries and interactive activities to exhibitions and shared memories — explore Curaçao’s cultural heritage in different ways throughout the day. Kids are more than welcome!

Throughout the day, visitors can explore our exhibition, take part in interactive activities, and enjoy a continuous selection of documentaries that bring Curaçao’s history and heritage to life.

🎥 The documentary program runs throughout the day (09:00 – 15:00) and features screenings of "Awa Pa Kòrsou", "HUMA extras", "De Krab uit Nederland",a documentary about the life and work of Pater Paul Brenneker and "Su Solo ta Grandi", a documentary about the life and work of Elis Juliana.

An intimate evening of film and conversation around the work and legacy of Elis Juliana.

On Friday evening, NAAM invites you to a special screening of Su solo ta grandi, followed by an intergenerational panel reflecting on the meaning of Elis Juliana’s work today, the importance of cultural memory, and the passing on of knowledge across generations.

The conversation will feature Rose-Mary Allen, Sorandy Sint Jacobs and Alexine Gabriela.

An evening of reflection, exchange and connection.

From 18–23 May, NAAM opens its doors for Curaçao Museum Week with a week full of stories, heritage, memory and exchange.

Throughout the week, visitors are invited to explore an exhibition centered around Curaçao’s cultural heritage through photographs, objects, stories and interactive activities inspired by remembrance, recognition and conversation.

From memory games and creative assignments to object identification and spaces for reflection. The exhibition invites both children and adults to explore, reflect and engage with Curaçao’s cultural heritage in their own way.
