🏗️🌍 Circular DigiBuild concludes with a shared vision for the future of circular and digital construction in the Danube Region

On 17–18 June 2026, partners and stakeholders from across the Danube Region gathered in Pécs, Hungary, for the High-Level Final Policy Event of the Circular DigiBuild project.

Over two intensive days, policymakers, researchers, industry representatives, and circular economy experts reflected on three years of collaboration, exchanged good practices, and explored how digitalisation and circular economy principles can help transform the construction sector.

🤝 The conference showcased the project's key achievements, including:
✅ The Danube Transnational Strategy on digitalisation-led circular economy innovations in construction
✅ National Action Plans developed in all 13 partner countries
✅ Pilot innovations tested across the region
✅ Research, policy recommendations, and practical tools to support greener construction

Participants also discussed how the project's results can continue to support better policies and accelerate the green and digital transition of the building sector long after the project's completion.

As Circular DigiBuild comes to an end, the partnerships, knowledge, and strategies developed throughout the project will continue to serve as a foundation for more sustainable, resource-efficient, and digitally enabled construction across the Danube Region.

Day 2 of the Transition for Greener Future Project Closure Conference has started in Pécs, Hungary.

The day opened with a welcome and recap of Day 1 by Krisztina Pohli from CCIPB, Hungary, summarising the key discussions, insights, and outcomes from the first conference day.

The programme continues with a session focused on policy improvements and strategic follow-up actions for supporting digitalisation-led circular economy innovations in construction across the Danube region.

The session is led by Cristin Cistelecan from WEST RDA, Romania, and includes partners’ presentations on the Danube Transnational Strategy and the Transnational Action Plan covering 13 countries.

The final project meeting has started in Pécs, Hungary.

The Project Closure Conference opened with welcoming remarks by Silvia Stumpf, Project Coordinator and representative of the Lead Partner, Business agency association

Over the next two days, partners and stakeholders will discuss the project’s achievements, lessons learned, follow-up ambitions, and practical opportunities for advancing circularity, digitalisation, and greener practices in construction across the Danube region.

✅ More insights from Maribor — continuing the momentum!

The second part of the programme brought a strong series of presentations focused on regional cooperation, circular innovation, and the future of digitalised building data.

We started with Dávid Sörös from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pécs-Baranya, who presented valuable insights on the potential synergies between RTIT>> and the Circular DigiBuild project — highlighting opportunities for shared impact and cross-border alignment.

Next, Jana Vítková from INCIEN explored how voluntary partnerships can scale low-emission and digitalised building transitions.

This was followed by a joint session on pilot projects under Circular DigiBuild by Emiliyan Enev (ReCheck) and Mario Vasak Vašak (University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu), showcasing progress, demos, and ambitious plans for scaling the solutions across the region.

We are now moving towards the closing of the event, inspired by today’s energy, the exchange of ideas, and the shared commitment to drive innovation in the built environment across the Danube region.

The first part of the programme just wrapped up, and it set the tone for a productive and inspiring day ahead. We kicked off with insightful presentations and discussions focused on collaboration in the region, innovation opportunities, and the shared challenges we’re addressing together.

The energy in the room is fantastic — partners from across countries, sectors, and expertise areas coming together with a clear purpose and strong momentum.
