URBO – Association of Roma of the Braničevo District has successfully implemented dissemination activities within the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Helping Roma Youth Thrive in the Job Market."
The project was realized in partnership with the organizations NGO Avena from North Macedonia and NGO EMA from Bulgaria, with the financial support of the European Union's Erasmus+ programme.
During two local activities held on April 30 and May 5, 2026, in Požarevac, young participants and youth workers had the opportunity to learn about the project results, Erasmus+ opportunities, and the importance of developing soft and digital skills for the more successful integration of Roma youth into the labor market.
Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and non-formal education methods, the participants developed communication skills, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and digital competencies. A special focus was placed on the empowerment of Roma youth, inclusion, and the active participation of young people in the local community.
The activities brought together 12 young participants and 5 youth workers, who collectively contributed to promoting Erasmus+ values, international cooperation, and non-formal education among youth.
The project "Helping Roma Youth Thrive in the Job Market" has contributed to strengthening the competencies of young people, promoting digital inclusion, and raising awareness of opportunities for education, mobility, and employment of Roma youth.

URBO je uspešno realizovao aktivnosti diseminacije u okviru Erasmus+ projekta „Helping Roma youth thrive in the job market“!
Projekat je realizovan u partnerstvu sa NGO Avena iz Severne Makedonije i NGO EMA iz Bugarske, uz podršku Erasmus+ programa Evropske unije 🇪🇺🤝
Mladi i omladinski radnici iz Požarevca učestvovali su u radionicama posvećenim razvoju mekih i digitalnih veština, komunikaciji, timskom radu, liderstvu i većem uključivanju mladih Roma na tržište rada.
Kroz neformalno obrazovanje i interaktivne aktivnosti promovisane su Erasmus+ mogućnosti, inkluzija, aktivno učešće mladih i međunarodna saradnja. 💡🚀

Poštovani svi,

Pozivamo Vas da prisustvujete edukaciji I javnog dijalogu o genocidu nad Romima koji se organizuje u okviru projekta„Remembering for Peace – Empowering Youth and Local Communities through Remembrance of the Porajmos and Education on Antiziganism“ koji sprovodi Forum Roma Srbije iz Beograda I nemačka organizacija SODI iz Berlina.

Projekat ima za cilj da kroz edukaciju i javni dijalog o genocidu nad Romima (Porajmos) i savremenom antiziganizmu osnaži mlade, lokalne institucije i zajednice.

U okviru projekta planirana je organizacija kraćeg stručnog treninga u Požarevcu, na kome će predavači biti dr Milovan Pisarri (međunarodno priznati stručnjak za teme Holokausta i genocida nad Romima) i dr Dragan Stanojević (vanredni profesor na Odeljenju za sociologiju Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu).

Cilj treninga je da okupimo predstavnike lokalnih institucija, organizacija, škola, kulturnih ustanova i organizacija mladih, kako bismo zajedno razvili pristupe za:
• sećanje na Porajmos u lokalnom kontekstu,
• prepoznavanje i suzbijanje savremenog antiziganizma,
• osnaživanje mladih za aktivno učešće u zajednici.

Ljubazno Vas pozivamo da učestvujete / delegirate predstavnika na ovom treningu koji će se održati u Požarevcu 8. maja 2026. sa početkom u 15 časova u prostorijama URBO (Udruženje Roma braničevskog okruga - Romski edukativni centar)

An inspiring international training was held within the THRIVE project – Helping Roma and Roma-origin youth thrive in the job market, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union 🇪🇺
👥 15 youth workers from:
🇷🇸 URBO (Serbia)
🇧🇬 EMA (Bulgaria)
🇲🇰 AVENA (North Macedonia)
came together for a week full of learning, exchange, and collaboration 🤝
👉 URBO Association is a proud partner in this project, contributing its expertise in youth work and inclusion.
👩🏫 The soft skills sessions were led by Biljana Jovanović, URBO’s expert in soft skills development. Alongside Macedonian and Bulgarian experts, the participants learned:

📊 The training was implemented using non-formal education methods, ensuring active participation, peer learning, and practical application of knowledge. Participants reported increased confidence, improved competences, and stronger readiness to support Roma youth in their local contexts.
🔥 This activity was not just about gaining knowledge – it was about building connections, sharing experiences, and creating real impact!
🤝 As a result, participants strengthened partnerships and developed tools they will use in their daily work with young people, contributing to more inclusive and effective youth support systems.
