🎉 And we’re officially open!

ECMP 2026 has officially kicked off in Valencia! 🇪🇸

The Opening Ceremony brought together Efi Koutsouveli, EFOMP President, Maruxa Pérez Fernández, President of the Spanish Society of Medical Physics (SEFM) and Scientific Committee Chairs João Seco and José Pérez to welcome everyone to the congress.

🎶 A special performance by a Valencian musical ensemble added a local touch to the ceremony, followed by some digital fireworks 🎆 — keeping the celebration sustainable!

Four days of science, collaboration, networking and community are ahead.

💙 Welcome to ECMP 2026!

🌱 Valencia: a city looking towards a more sustainable future

As we get ready to meet in Valencia, we are also celebrating the city that will host us — a city recognised as European Green Capital 2024 for its work towards sustainable tourism, climate neutrality and a fair and inclusive green transition.

From shaded public spaces and urban cooling solutions to greener, more people-centred environments, Valencia offers examples of how cities can adapt to a changing climate while creating more comfortable spaces for everyone.

This vision connects closely with the ECMP 2026 theme:

Advancing Healthcare through Physics: Bridging Science and Patient Care for a Sustainable Future

Sustainability is not only about the technologies we use in healthcare — it is also about the environments we create and the communities we serve.

🌍 See you in Valencia!
