MEDIActive Youth: Think. Check. Act.

On the occasion of European Youth Week 2026, we are proud to share our promotional video dedicated to the importance of media literacy, critical thinking, and responsible digital engagement among young people.

In today’s fast-changing digital world, young people are surrounded by information, media influence, and new technologies. That is why the ability to think critically, check information carefully, and act responsibly has never been more important.

Through this campaign, MEDIActive Youth Network calls on young people, youth organisations, educators, and decision-makers to strengthen media literacy and support young people as informed citizens and responsible media creators.

Think critically. Check carefully. Act responsibly.

📢 Online meeting of the MEDIActive Youth Network

On 1 April 2026, members of the MEDIActive Youth Network (MAYnet) held an online meeting to review ongoing activities and coordinate the implementation of the MAYnet Work Plan 2026.
During the meeting, partner organisations discussed key activities taking place this year, including the work of the Coordination Board, the organisation of two mentored online courses on media literacy, and the continued development of the Transnational Youth Magazine (TYM).

The first online course, “Introduction to Media Literacy and Critical Thinking,” is expected to start in mid-April and will bring together youth activists from partner organisations across Europe.

Participants also exchanged information about upcoming initiatives, including the preparation of the Declaration on Youth Media Literacy, the expansion of the Network with new organisations, and communication and dissemination activities planned throughout the year.

🌐 Today is Safer Internet Day – let’s build a safer digital world together

On the occasion of Safer Internet Day, we highlight the importance of media literacy and critical thinking in helping young people navigate the online space safely and responsibly.

In a digital environment shaped by misinformation, algorithms, and increasingly sophisticated content (including AI-generated media), being online is not just about access – it’s about understanding, questioning, and evaluating information.

💡 Through the MEDIActive Youth Network (MAYnet), we are working with youth organisations across Europe to:
✔️ strengthen young people’s ability to recognise misinformation
✔️ develop critical thinking skills
✔️ promote responsible and active participation in the digital space

Our upcoming online courses and mentoring activities will empower youth activists to not only stay safe online, but also to become creators of reliable and meaningful content.

🔍 A safer internet starts with informed and critical users.

Uspešno održani diseminacioni skupovi projekta MEDIActive Youth

Projekat MEDIActive Youth: Informing the Balkans uspešno je završio svoju diseminacionu fazu kroz šest nacionalnih skupova održanih između decembra 2025. i februara 2026. godine širom regiona. Događaji su organizovani u svim partnerskim zemljama: Albaniji (Tirana), Bosni i Hercegovini (Lukavac), Hrvatskoj (Zagreb i Čakovec), Crnoj Gori (Podgorica), Severnoj Makedoniji (Kumanovo) i Srbiji (Beograd).
