En Rotary, sabemos que cuidar de nuestra casa común no es una opción, es una prioridad. El medio ambiente es nuestra séptima área de interés, y hoy nos unimos al llamado global para proteger, restaurar y conservar los recursos que sostienen la vida.

Desde la plantación de árboles locales hasta proyectos de agua limpia y energía renovable, los rotarios de todo el mundo transformamos la preocupación en acción real. No solo cambiamos vidas; aseguramos el futuro de las próximas generaciones.

Global Minga
In Europe: Unite for Peace & the Environment

As part of the “Global Minga” Initiative 2026, led in Europe by RC Beograd Stari Grad, Rotary District 2483, Rotaract District 2483 and ICC Ecuador – Serbia & Montenegro, seven programs have already been implemented across multiple countries, while several more are scheduled to take place by the end of June. In the month of May, we dedicated Minga to young people, celebrating Youth Service Month. We would especially like to thank the Rotaractors and Interactors for their valuable contribution.

This initiative is unique in that it has successfully connected diverse cultures, continents, countries, and regions, bringing together Rotary clubs, universities, associations, institutions, and companies in a shared global effort for environmental protection and sustainability.

United for the Danube I | Celebrating Youth Service Month – implemented by RC Beograd - Stari Grad in cooperation with Interact - Beograd Skadarlija and Rotaract District 2483.

United for the Danube II - implemented by RC Smederevo and RTC Smederevo

United for the Adriatic Coast | Opatija – implemented by RC Opatija Lungo Mare, in cooperation with Rotary District 1913 (Croatia).

United for the Begej River: REUSE • REDUCE • RECYCLE – implemented by RC Zrenjanin, together with Rotaract Zrenjanin, Interact Zrenjanin, Inner Wheel Zrenjanin, the children’s associations “Sovice Mudrice” and “Smajli,” and Green Industry d.o.o.

United for Environmental Awareness and Prevention: Building a Culture of Sustainability – implemented by RC Beograd - Stari Grad, Rotary Club Milano Leonardo da Vinci (Rotary District 2041, Italy), and RC Göttingen Süd (Rotary District 1800, Germany).

United in Preserving Natural Heritage – focused on the protection of the second-category natural monument, the Botanical Garden “Jevremovac” (Belgrade, Serbia), in cooperation with the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade.

We would particularly like to thank RC Novi Sad – Eco Art and the District Coordinator for Climate Change for their support in promoting this initiative within Rotary District 2483.

This year, we unite in a shared emotion and mission to protect our planet, so that in the coming year we can create and amplify long-term impact.

Invitation to Join the Danube River Clean-Up Event | Global Minga in Europe: United for the Danube – Clean Waters, Healthy Communities

In honor of May, the month dedicated to youth, and on the occasion of May 24th, the National Holiday of Ecuador, Rotary Club Beograd – Stari Grad, RD 2483, together with ICC Ecuador - Serbia & Montenegro, Interact Club Beograd – Skadarlija and the Rotaract Clubs of District 2483, invite you to join us in a meaningful initiative that unites us across borders and generations.

We warmly invite you to participate on May 24th in a special environmental action dedicated to cleaning the banks of the Danube River.

On this important day, we also celebrate the National Day of Ecuador, reminding us that international friendship and shared values connect us beyond borders. Through "Global MINGA" initiative, we aim to show that distance means nothing when we are truly united, connected through love, altruism, and the spirit of the Rotary community.
May is also a month dedicated to youth empowerment, and we are especially proud to highlight the active participation of Interact and Rotaract clubs in this project. Their enthusiasm and dedication are a powerful symbol of the role young people play in shaping a more responsible and sustainable future.
Together, let us take action to protect the Danube River and show the strength of global solidarity in service.

Global MINGA in EUROPE

Rotary District 4400 Ecuador, Rotary District 2483 Serbia and Montenegro, Rotary Club Belgrade – Stari Grad, the Intercountry Committee Ecuador–Serbia & Montenegro, and ESRAG LATAM, together with the Johannes Kepler School Foundation, the Arcandina Foundation, the Rotary Club Los Chillos Milenio, the Rotary Club Earth Network Club, and the Rotary Club JK, and with the support of the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, cordially invite you to join the international initiative “Global Minga for Peace and the Environment,” taking place across Europe from April to June 2026, two-month programme in commemoration of Earth Day.

“Minga,” derived from the Quechua word mink’a, embodies the spirit of collective action for the common good, bringing communities together through cooperation, shared responsibility, and joint effort. Guided by this powerful concept, the initiative seeks to mobilize Rotary’s global network and partners to protect the environment while advancing education, awareness, and sustainable practices.

Established through a 2025 agreement with Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick, and supported in its early phase by the Honorary Consulate of Ecuador in the Republic of Serbia and the Embassy of Ecuador in Budapest, the initiative continues to expand through the engagement of Rotary clubs, institutions, and universities worldwide.

We warmly encourage your club to take part by organizing or joining activities such as environmental clean-ups, tree planting, recycling initiatives, and educational programs that promote community engagement and environmental responsibility.
