Unlocking Decades of Serbian Art! 📷 🖼️ ✨

At today’s visit to Between Two Breaths: From Avant-Garde to Digital, the IWC Cultural Club was exploring Serbian art from the second half of the 20th century to the present. 🤩

Special thanks go to Sonia and Ksenia for organising and to curator Saša Janjić for taking us through three floors of incredible works from the Wiener Städtische collection - tracing the evolution from mid-century avant-garde to modern digital art.

🐝 IWC proudly supporting our Queen Bees! 🐝✨ 
We spent a fantastic afternoon at Silosi’s BeeCenter, where IWC members gathered in the Honey Garden to celebrate the finale of the “Queen Bee Initiative - Beekeeping Course for Women” - a wonderful project we were immensely proud to support in 2025/26.

We caught the final training session, celebrated the graduates receiving their diplomas, and then suited up to step into the apiary and experience the hives firsthand! 🍯✨

There’s a quiet wisdom in a beehive: every single bee plays a small, purpose-driven role, yet together they sustain an entire ecosystem. Maybe we, too, thrive best when we remember how deeply connected we all are. 💛🌿

A huge thank you to the Bee Center Silosi at Silosi Beograd ••••IIII Dom kulture for hosting us and for their tireless dedication to bees, nature, and empowering women through this wonderful initiative. Congratulations to all the inspiring new beekeepers! 💛

✨ IWC BOOK CLUB READS WHAT I LOVED 📚

At our first meeting of the new club year, the IWC Book Club 📚 discussed What I Loved by American novelist Siri Hustvedt 📖.

The novel follows the decades-long friendship of an art historian and an artist in New York 🎨, their families, and how relations are strained by tragedy and duplicity 💔. Told through the eyes of Leo, it explores art, psychology, grief, betrayal, and the many forms love can take ✨.

Our readers enjoyed discussing this thought-provoking book while enjoying traditional German cakes 🍰🇩🇪 - in honour of the main character’s heritage and our dear member Uscha, who is moving away from Belgrade ❤️. Huge thanks to Caro for hosting 🏡 and Brenda for coordinating and taking photos 📸.

✨A brilliant start to a new season! The Ladies Who Lunch gathered at Mamagayo (Mamagayo Restoran) in Novi Beograd to kick off 2026/27. 🍽️💖 Delicious food, great conversation, and the perfect spot for our first lunch of the season! 🥂🌿

✨ CREATIVE ART WORKSHOP: HANDMADE LEATHER PENDANT NECKLACE ✨

A beautiful morning of creativity, craftsmanship, and connection at the International Women’s Club Belgrade! 🎨💖

During our latest workshop, participants created their own unique handmade leather pendant necklaces. Guided step-by-step by designer Liana Ghavalyan Lili Design | Handmade Art Jewelry & dresses | , everyone transformed leather elements into wearable art reflecting their personal style. ✨

From selecting the details to assembling the final piece, it was all about individuality and the joy of making something by hand. 🌿✂️

🎨 WOMEN as ARTIST AND INSPIRATION 🎨

THE CULTURAL CLUB followed an extraordinary lecture at the National Museum of Serbia! 🏛️ Woman as Artist and Inspiration explored the role of women as both creators and muses from prehistory to the 20th century. 🖼️ Thank you to the wonderful crew of the Museum and to everyone who attended! 💖✨

Nothing beats discovering Serbia’s hidden gems on the trail! 🌲💎 Our hiking group kicked off the new season with two distinct, equally rewarding adventures.

⭐️Gradac River Gorge
The easy-hikers explored the pristine Gradac River Gorge near Valjevo. Multiple river crossings, an ice-cold Kneipp-style wake-up call for our feet, and even a post-lunch swim made it an absolute adventure! 🌊👙 We wrapped up at the peaceful 13th-century Ćelije Monastery, joined all day by a friendly four-legged guide. ⛪🐾 So great welcoming our newest members! 🏵️

⭐️Beljanica Peak
Reaching the summit of Beljanica (1,339 m) was an absolute reward! ✨ This 16 km hike with 1,010 m of elevation gain was no joke, but the crisp air, quiet forests, and top-of-the-world views made every step worth it. 🌬️🌲⛰️ We capped off the day at the magnificent Veliki Buk (Lisine) waterfall cascading at the mountain’s foot. 🩵

A demanding trail, fantastic company, and nature at its best! 🎒🥾✨

Golden hour magic on the water ✨🌅🥂

Sipping great w**e, chasing the golden hour, and cruising down the Danube - does it get any better than this? 🌇

Last night’s exclusive sunset cruise aboard the ⛴️Sirena was unforgettable! From gliding past Belgrade’s iconic skyline to reaching the Sava and Danube confluence, every moment was pure magic.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to vinarija 100 Žena Vinarija 100 žena, Vele Polje for pairing the stunning views with such incredible local w**e. 🍷✨

The 2026/27 IWC Season Is Officially Open! And what a wonderful start this was! 🥂🌸☀️

A warm thank you to Her Excellency, Anne Lugon-Moulin, Swiss Ambassador to Serbia, for inviting us to her beautiful residence and garden 🇨🇭 Swiss Embassy in Serbia and Montenegro. What a fantastic setting for our IWC season opener!

We were especially honored to present Ambassador Lugon-Moulin with an honorary membership to the International Women’s Club, celebrating our continued connection and shared community spirit.

After the long summer break, it was wonderful to to see so many familiar faces and welcome our newest members to the club. Lots of positive energy, warm smiles and genuine excitement for the year ahead! 💫
