As part of the collaboration between the Serbian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (SrbEVs) and the Serbian Association for Cancer Research (SDIR), a joint seminar entitled “Extracellular Vesicles in Cancer” was held on December 16, 2025, bringing together over 50 registered members of the two societies.

The aim of the meeting was to connect researchers from both societies through the presentation of their members’ work, as well as through discussions on current knowledge in cancer biology, diagnosis, and therapy, with a particular focus on the opportunities offered by the field of extracellular vesicles.

Our members at :

- Sara Stojanović, from the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade, as a MOVE scholarship holder and recipient of a SrbEVs travel scholarship, orally presented her research titled “EVs-Mediated Communication During Breast Cancer Progression”.

- Marina Bekić from the INEP Institute of the University of Belgrade, also supported by SrbEVs travel scholarship, presented the results of her collaboration with colleagues from Austria in the form of a poster entitled “Immunomodulatory Potential of Extracellular Vesicles Released in Response to Schistosoma mansoni Cathepsin Protease B1”.

- Jovana Terzić, from the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, had a poster presentation “Application Of VHH-Immobilized Cryogel-Based Immunoaffinity Chromatography for Isolation of Extracellular Vesicles”.

- Dr. Lidija Filipović, from the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, presented her research “Single-Step Immunoaffinity Chromatography Method for Oil-Red-O Labeling and Extracellular Vesicle Isolation”

- The president of SrbEV, Dr. Maja Kosanović, attended the congress as the president of the co-organizing society, a member of the International Organizing Committee; chaired the first session and participated in a round table on the activities of the European National Societies for Extracellular Vesicles.
