Balkan initiative for tolerance

Balkan initiative for tolerance BIT promotes tolerance through networking, activism, ICT and art. We foster citizens' engagement in public life and advocate for livable communities.

Balkan Initiative for Tolerance (BIT) is non governmental and non profit organization, established in May 2010, by youth workers, activists, and humanity enthusiasts, who believe in the power of networking and knowledge-sharing. We do our best to promote active participation in the Balkans by encouraging good practice exchanges, cross-sectoral cooperation, dialogue and creativity. We achieve our g

oals through the use of non formal and lifelong learning methods. We deliver various services to youth workers – trainings, digital storytelling workshops, Social Hackathons, youth exchanges, and public events. Our projects are raising awareness on social issues and rights of vulnerable groups in local communities. We also do projects on political participation - especially in the fields of elections and government inclusiveness. We like to grow and develop, and we are huge fans of exploring new methods. Besides becoming addicts of multimedia and ICT, we wish to bring also "service design" to NGO sector, and we hope this to be our next venture! We always look for new partners and models of cooperation, so feel free to contact us!
