Publishing in Top-Tier Journals: From a Strong Paper to a Sustainable Publication Pipeline

What does it really take to publish consistently in Q1 and other top-tier journals?

On September 28, 2026, UdEkoM Balkans is bringing Prof. Samira Hosseini to the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, for an intensive, practical workshop dedicated to academic publishing.

During the workshop, participants will explore:
- What top-tier journals are looking for
- What kinds of papers are currently being accepted
- The core principles behind a strong Q1 journal paper
- How to build a strategic paper pipeline
- How to achieve sustainable and consistent publication output
- Practical publication strategies and common challenges
- Your own questions and dilemmas during a dedicated Q&A session

Meet the instructor
Prof. Samira Hosseini completed her postdoctoral fellowship at MIT’s Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) and previously served as Director of the Writing Lab at the Institute for the Future of Education, Tecnológico de Monterrey.

She has worked on publication strategy and faculty development initiatives involving 12,000+ faculty members, contributing to 2,500+ publications in top-tier journals and conferences.

She is the author of 180+ scientific publications and 15 books, holds 8 intellectual properties, and is a Senior Member of IEEE, journal Editor-in-Chief, Visiting Professor, and President of the global SAMYRAD Conference.

All accepted full papers enter the ITEMA publication and selection process.

Selected papers will be published in ITEMA 2026 Selected Papers, which will be submitted for evaluation/indexation in Clarivate Web of Science – Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI), Scopus, and other academic databases.

Further selected and extended papers may be considered for:

• publication as book chapters in a scientific monograph, following an additional independent peer-review process;

• publication in partner scientific journals published by faculties and universities in different countries.

Other accepted full papers will be published in the ITEMA 2026 Conference Proceedings, with ISBN and DOI numbers assigned.
