✨ We're excited to share that our project has reached an incredible milestone! 🎉 With over 700 visitors to our platform and more than 300 downloads of our manual, we’re truly proud of what we've accomplished together.

But this is just the beginning. 🌱 We believe that the real impact will be seen as the manual is implemented in schools, inspiring the next generation to embrace sustainability. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you and watch our collective efforts grow into something even more powerful.

Over 120 attendees joined us at our live events across Serbia, Romania, and Croatia 🌍. We had the chance to introduce our platform and manual, offering detailed guidance on how to integrate it into classroom settings 🌱. Most participants were teachers, highlighting how crucial our work is in enhancing educational practices.

We also showcased impressive permaculture practices. In Romania, participants crafted seed balls 🎋, in Croatia, they learned how to grow balcony tomatoes 🍅, and in Serbia, we hosted a World Café workshop where we explored how non-formal education can enrich formal, how our manual can elevate teaching and how we can all contribute to a more sustainable world 🌍.

The enthusiastic feedback from participants has filled us with optimism for future collaborations 🤝. We’re excited about what’s to come and deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey! 💚

🌿 SPLIT CAN BE PROUD! 💚

During the training for urban permaculture teachers, our beautiful hosts from Permakultura Dalmacija showed us three unique examples of green spaces in Split that involve civic participation:

1️⃣ School Garden of OŠ Skalice – A space for students, teachers, the neighborhood, and associations. The garden includes an outdoor classroom, an orchard, a vegetable garden, a picnic area, and much more. 🌱🐝

2️⃣ Plot (Parcela) below Vidilica – Self-organized citizens transformed an abandoned plot into an alternative city park. Today, it is a place for socializing, with benches and water. 🌳🦋

3️⃣ Square in front of Dalma – A paved square enriched with trees, benches, and a small urban orchard. 🍅🪴

These examples show how the community can create and maintain green spaces that improve the quality of life in Split. 💚

🌿🌞 Day 3 Highlights from Urban Permaculture Education! 🌞🌿

Our third day began at Braca Radic High School in Kastel, where we explored their beautiful garden and greenhouses, marveling at hundreds of different plant species. 🌱🏫

In the school library, we gathered to continue discussions on digital tools that can assist teachers in teaching permaculture. We close with an evaluation of our overall experience and held a sharing circle where each of us expressed what left the biggest impression. 💻📚

We finished the day at Nove Starine, visiting Ivan's Eco-project dedicated to nature preservation and promoting unfiltered, artistic expression. 🌿🎨

This has been a truly enriching experience for all of us, and we look forward to our next steps in this project. 🌍✨

🌞🌿 Day 2 Highlights from Urban Permaculture Education! 🌿🌞

Our second day kicked off with an exciting presentation of the e-platform designed to inspire high school teachers in teaching permaculture lessons and workshops. We had in-depth discussions about the best technical and visual solutions to ensure the platform is user-friendly and effective. 💻📚

The rest of the day was spent enjoying the beauty of Split and its stunning coastline. We concluded with a beautiful walk around Marjan, visiting a local urban garden community—an excellent example of a communal space serving everyone with a shared interest in gardening. 🌳🌊

We also toured a school where Permaculture Dalmacija has implemented a two-year project, incorporating numerous permaculture solutions into their curriculum. 🏫🌱

The day ended with a communal dinner and a celebration of our small successes 🎉🍽️

🌿🌍 Exciting Updates from Urban Permaculture Education! 🌍🌿

At the beginning of June 2024, our project team gathered in the beautiful city of Split in Croatia to discuss the progress of our initiative and plan the next steps.

The meeting lasted three days, and in this post, we're happy to share highlights from Day 1! 🎉

We gathered in the beautiful space of Dom Mladih, right in the heart of Split. It was a day of deepening connections, engaging discussions about permaculture, and fun games based on permaculture principles. We wrapped up the day with a delicious communal dinner 🍽️💚
