Udruženje nastavnika engleskog jezika – ELTA objavljuje poziv za nominovanje dva člana Upravnog odbora. 📣

Kandidat za člana Upravnog odbora treba da bude aktivan član Udruženja i da uz prijavu dostavi biografiju i motivaciono pismo.

Kandidati čije prijave ispunjavaju uslove biće uključeni u proces glasanja na redovnoj godišnjoj Skupštini, koja će se održati 16. maja 2026. godine u okviru 24. međunarodne ELTA konferencije.

In the article “Warmth, Diversity, and Wonder: My Journey through Multicultural Teaching”, based on her 2026 TESOL SPAIN Annual Convention talk in Seville, Tijana Gajić reflects on how teaching international students in Serbia challenged earlier assumptions about silence, group work, and classroom interaction. 📚

Her experience showed that diversity by itself does not guarantee intercultural learning. What made the difference was thoughtful task design, including activities such as “My Country and the Host Country”, which encouraged dialogue, teamwork, empathy, and meaningful language use. The article brings together three memorable ideas: warmth, diversity, and wonder. Together, they capture what makes multicultural teaching both demanding and deeply rewarding. 🌍

🇺🇸 Freedom 250 in Sarajevo | Day 4 Brings Reflection and Closing Conversations ✨

On Friday, 17 April 2026, Day 4 of the Freedom 250: Celebrating the U.S. Journey through ELT Master Training in Sarajevo brought teachers from the RELO region together for a thoughtful and engaging final day. 📚🌍

We explored America through Literature, U.S. Pop Culture, and Soft Power, all led by Alma Žero and Blerta Mustafa. The programme then continued with Teaching July 4th, led by Dr Kevin Colleary, before closing with Reflection, Evaluation, and Certification with all trainers. It was a fitting end to a programme that encouraged not only learning, but also reflection on how culture, history, and language can enrich one another in the classroom. ✨

As this master training concludes, we are grateful for the energy, curiosity, and professional exchange that made it such a rich experience. We look forward to seeing how these ideas continue to travel into classrooms and communities across the region. 💙
