🤍 🌹 ACT Foundation USA volunteers during their visit to Manila, Philippines, organized birthday celebration for the kids at Mother Teresa Home of Joy on September 19th and 29th. They provided Care Bear🧸 and birthday dinner including: homemade vegan spaghetti🍝, sweet rolls🥐, juice 🧃for 25 and cake🎂 for the orphans, sisters and helpers for sick children in Antipolo, Philippines—which is up on the mountains surrounding Manila.

Two (2) of the children were celebrating their 3rd and 5th birthdays and we were honored to celebrate with them with dinner, cake, party plates, and jungle friends & Spider-Man party hats! We sang happy birthday and gave the sisters 23 Care Bears to distribute for comfort, play and joy.

Many of the orphan children are experiencing tuberculosis, severe developmental disabilities, mental conditions, blindness, and birth defects, resulting in their parents giving the children to the Home. The children enjoyed the meal and cake and were excited to receive their teddy bear! 🧸🤍

On September 23rd, ACT Foundation USA - Ohio team and Open Arms Food Pantry hosted its monthly pantry. We had another record turnout as 74 families and 247 people in total were served. Through our partners and donors, we were able to supply a wonderful variety of fresh produce to supplement the pantry, which included:

- 80 lbs tomatoes 🍅
- 120 lbs potatoes 🥔
- 120 lbs apples 🍏🍎
- 60 lbs green beans 🫛
- 100 lbs cucumbers 🥒
- 40 lbs peppers 🫑
- 50 lbs salad mix 🥗
- 20 dozen ears of sweet corn 🌽

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers, donors and partner organizations for the unwavering motivation, guidance, and support to make this pantry a reality.🤝🙏

❤️ ACT Foundation USA Seva in Kalamazoo

On Sunday, September 27th, ACT Foundation USA volunteers in Michigan gathered in downtown Kalamazoo to share 60 vegan meals with our houseless friends. It was a meaningful day of compassion, kindness, and coming together through seva.

🌱 Meals Served

Each meal was lovingly prepared and included:

* Pasta and vegetables 🍝
* Rice and vegetables 🍚
* Pasta with pesto 🍝
* Wafer cookies 🍪
* Fig bars 🍫
* Ritz crackers 🍪
* Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches 🫓
* Bananas 🍌
* Clementines 🍊
* Gatorade 🥤
* Sparkling water 🫗
* Water 💧

🧣 Additional Items Shared

Along with the meals, we were grateful to provide 4 bags of clothing and feminine products👚👗, as well as bird seed to help care for the birds 🐦 in the area.

A heartfelt thank🫶🙏 you to all of our wonderful volunteers and donors who make these acts of seva possible.

Throughout the summer, ACT volunteers in Macedonia continued bringing care and practical support to people facing difficult circumstances. Their regular seva included preparing and sharing vegan food with people in need in the heart of the city, creating a simple space where everyone could receive a warm meal and a little human connection.

The volunteers also extended their support beyond food, occasionally bringing clothes that people could take according to their needs and share with others. These small but consistent acts of service are made possible through the time, energy and kindness of volunteers and everyone who chooses to support their work.

Following the assessment of the flood-affected communities, ACT International’s Disaster Relief Team prepared essential supplies, including warm clothing for children and families facing the coming winter.

The team travelled to Nuwakot and distributed the supplies at temporary shelters and community centres, while also supporting children staying at a local school after being displaced by the floods. Some of these children have lost family members and are now being cared for by relatives who are also affected by the disaster.

ACT will continue to visit and support the affected communities, bringing practical help, warmth, and care to those who need it most.

On September 19th, ACT Foundation USA - Cincinnati, Ohio team prepared and served 35 vegan meals at the Hope House Mission Women’s and Children Homeless Shelter🏘️ in Middletown, Ohio.

The meal included:
- Vegetable Rice 🍚
- Pasta 🍝
- Vegetable Lentil Soup 🍲
- Green Salad 🥗
- Cut Fruits-Watermelon, cantaloupe, Grapes 🍉🍇🍈
- Orange Juice and Mango Nectar 🥭🍊

This winter, ACT volunteers across South Africa continued their Seva through a range of initiatives supporting children, families, and local communities. From grocery hampers and essential supplies for families in need to nourishing breakfasts and warm meals for school learners, each contribution offered practical support and care where it was needed most.

ACT teams also came together to serve warm meals to hundreds of people in local communities and to support volunteers taking part in a beach clean-up in Cape Town. Across these different activities, Seva took many forms — providing food, offering essential items, caring for shared spaces, and simply being present for people facing difficult circumstances.

From Durban to Cape Town and beyond, these acts of kindness brought nourishment, warmth, dignity, and a sense of community throughout the winter months. Heartfelt gratitude to ACT S.A., ACT Cape Town, the volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who continue to make this Seva possible.
