To ensure the safety of refugee and migrant children, who are one of the most vulnerable groups of children as they are at increased risk of abuse, exploitation, neglect, sexual harassment and discrimination, Centre for Research and Social Development IDEAS, Crisis Policy and Response Center (CRPC), the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Indigo and PIN have formed a Coalition for the Protection of Refu
gee and Migrant Children from Abuse and Neglect.The Coalition will, above all, work on improving the systemic identification of children victims of abuse and neglect and providing effective legal protection. Also, the members of the Coalition will be committed to improving the competencies of employees in jobs that are in direct work with refugee and migrant children to recognize abuse and neglect, as well as to react in such situations. Another activity of the Coalition will be to support institutions and civil society organizations to develop child-friendly prevention practices, but also to effectively implement the legislative framework related to the protection of children from abuse and neglect. Special emphasis will be placed on empowering children to recognize and report abuse and participate in decision-making in terms of protection and recovery.
