Meet Jana Djudjic from Serbia 🇷🇸, one of the winners of the SEE Observatory Scholarship 2026! 🎓

In her “How to Build the Europe I Want” report, Jana puts young people at the heart of Europe’s future, highlighting the importance of rebuilding trust, creating spaces for meaningful participation and strengthening dialogue between younger generations and institutions.

Her vision is clear: a Europe built through dialogue, solidarity, sustainability and youth participation. 🇪🇺

We look forward to welcoming Jana to Trieste, where she will join the SEE Youth Forum and receive her scholarship during the SEE Observatory Annual Forum on 15 September.

🇪🇺 Trieste once again confirms its central role in the dialogue between Europe and the Western Balkans.

Today, the city hosts “The Balkans Meet in Trieste”, with Ferit Hoxha, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, as a key guest of the 34th General Assembly of the Association of the Balkan News Agencies – Southeast Europe (ABNA-SE), organised by ANSA.

Minister Hoxha will be back in Trieste next week to join us at the SEE Observatory Annual Forum on 15 September.

Two important events that reaffirm Trieste’s central role in the debate on EU enlargement and the European future of the Western Balkans.

🇧🇦 Peace is not something to take for granted. It is something we have to protect.

This idea is at the heart of Draga Gajić’s vision for Europe. A political scientist, researcher and activist from Banja Luka, Draga is one of the five winners of the SEE Observatory Scholarship Programme “How to Build the Europe I Would Like”.

Drawing on her childhood experience of war, she imagines a Europe where peace, safety, dignity and trust are actively protected through stronger communities, youth engagement and concrete action.

“Change begins with us.” 🇪🇺

Draga will share her perspective at the SEE Youth Forum 2026 and receive her scholarship at the SEE Observatory Annual Forum on 15 September. 💫

🇧🇦 La pace non è qualcosa che possiamo dare per scontato. È qualcosa che dobbiamo proteggere.

È da questa idea che nasce la visione dell’Europa di Draga Gajić, politologa, ricercatrice e attivista di Banja Luka, tra i cinque vincitori del SEE Observatory Scholarship Programme “How to Build the Europe I Would Like”.

Partendo dalla propria esperienza dell’infanzia durante la guerra, Draga immagina un’Europa in cui pace, sicurezza, dignità e fiducia siano protette attraverso comunità più forti, il coinvolgimento dei giovani e azioni concrete.

🇲🇪 What if we looked at Europe through a child’s eyes?

For Tea Radunović, it means imagining a continent built on peace, unity and hope, free from violence, hatred and poverty.

Representing Montenegro, Tea is one of the five winners of the SEE Observatory Scholarship Programme “How to Build the Europe I Would Like”. A Diplomacy and International Relations student, she invites us to combine the ambition of childhood dreams with the awareness of adulthood to build a better Europe for future generations.

Her message? “Continue on dreaming.” 💫

Tea will bring her vision to the SEE Youth Forum 2026 and receive her scholarship at the SEE Observatory Annual Forum on 15 September. 🇪🇺

🇦🇱 What should the Europe of the future look like? For Algert Bici, it should be a “superpower of ideas” built on cooperation, diversity and equal opportunities.

Representing Albania, Algert is one of the five winners of the SEE Observatory Scholarship Programme “How to Build the Europe I Would Like”.

An Industrial Engineering graduate currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Tirana, he envisions a people-centred Europe where innovation goes hand in hand with solidarity, sustainability and social justice.

Algert will share his perspective with young people from across South-East Europe at the SEE Youth Forum 2026, before receiving his scholarship at the SEE Observatory Annual Forum on 15 September. 🇪🇺

Marina is the first of the five winners of the SEE Observatory Scholarship Programme “How to Build the Europe I Would Like” that we are introducing ahead of our September events.

With her vision of a stronger, more resilient and strategically coherent Europe, Marina will bring her perspective to the SEE Youth Forum, joining young people from across South-East Europe to exchange ideas and contribute to shaping the future activities of the SEE Observatory.

On 15 September, she will also be officially awarded her scholarship during the SEE Observatory Annual Forum in Trieste. 🇪🇺

Five young voices, five perspectives and one shared vision: contributing to the Europe of tomorrow.

Following their participation in the “How to Build the Europe I Would Like” Scholarship Programme, our five winners will be officially awarded at the SEE Observatory Annual Forum in recognition of their ideas and contributions.

Women diagnosed with specific conditions associated with painful menstruation will be entitled to two days of paid leave, placing Montenegro alongside Spain and Portugal in Europe.

A step that brings women’s health, workers’ rights and gender equality into the spotlight.

🇲🇪 Il Montenegro introduce il congedo mestruale: è il primo Paese dei Balcani occidentali a riconoscere questo diritto.

Le donne a cui vengono diagnosticate specifiche patologie associate a mestruazioni dolorose potranno usufruire di due giorni di congedo retribuito.

Una misura che porta al centro del dibattito la salute delle donne, i diritti delle lavoratrici e la parità di genere.

🌍 Meet Irena Topalli, facilitator of the SEE Youth Forum 2026!

A civil society and youth policy expert, senior trainer, facilitator and leadership coach, Irena will guide our young participants through the SEE Youth Forum on 14 September in Trieste, encouraging dialogue, collaboration and the exchange of ideas.

With extensive experience in civic participation, non-formal education and regional cooperation across Southeast Europe, she will help turn young voices and perspectives into concrete ideas for the future of the region and the Liberal Dialogues 2027.

🌍 SEE Youth Forum 2026

On 14 September, the SEE Youth Forum will bring together selected students from across South-East Europe at for a participatory dialogue on the future of Europe, regional cooperation and shared liberal values.

Organised in cooperation with RCC WB Youth Lab 2, the workshop will give young participants the opportunity to exchange ideas, identify concrete themes and develop project proposals that will help shape the Liberal Dialogues 2027 programme.

Il 14 settembre, il SEE Youth Forum riunirà presso studenti selezionati provenienti da tutto il Sud-Est Europa per un dialogo partecipativo sul futuro dell’Europa, la cooperazione regionale e i valori liberali condivisi.

Organizzato in collaborazione con RCC WB Youth Lab 2, il workshop offrirà ai giovani partecipanti l’opportunità di confrontarsi, individuare temi concreti e sviluppare proposte progettuali che contribuiranno a definire il programma Liberal Dialogues 2027.
