🎉 Together, We Did It! 2,185 Animals Sterilized in 2026! 🐾
“Last year, after 20 years of rescuing animals, I believed our mission had reached its end. What happened next changed the future of thousands of animals.”
During the low season of 2025, after nearly two decades dedicated to rescuing abandoned animals and organizing spay and neuter clinics, I reached my breaking point.
The debt was overwhelming, the veterinary bills kept growing, and I believed we could no longer continue.
Then, it wasn’t just one person’s generosity that changed the future of thousands of animals. It was also the unwavering support of a small group of dedicated animal lovers who continue to believe in this mission.
Thanks to Steve, Osa Hora Group, Sabine & BJ, and the support of our 501(c)(3) partnership, we were able to continue our work into 2026.
Together with an extraordinary group of supporters and volunteers, we have achieved something remarkable.
From 2023 through 2025, we fully sponsored 1,704 spay and neuter surgeries for animals belonging to families with limited financial resources in Paso Canoas, La Cuesta, Tamarindo, Finca Olla Cero, Finca Tinoco, Finca Puntarenas, Fincas 1–20 in Palmar Sur, Cortés, Dominicalito, Alto Conte in the Brunca Indigenous Territory, and Alto de San Antonio in the Ngäbe Territory.
By June 2026, we reached our goal of 2,185 spay and neuter surgeries, preventing overpopulation, reducing abandonment, and improving animal welfare in communities where veterinary care is often beyond reach.
Our work extends far beyond sterilization.
Because of these campaigns, people continue to reach out to us long after the clinics have ended with emergency cases involving animals suffering from severe car or motorcycle accidents, heartworm, ehrlichiosis (tick-borne disease), poisoning, traumatic injuries, difficult births, and many other life-threatening conditions.
This work is made possible by a small but dedicated network of supporters, donors, and volunteers who believe that prevention is the most effective way to reduce suffering.
Today, we face another critical moment.
Our funding for 2026 is reaching its limit. Without additional support, our remaining campaigns this year are at risk. Hundreds of animals could lose access to essential spay and neuter surgeries—procedures that are critical to reducing overpopulation, preventing suffering, and creating lasting change.
