🐶 Friends of El Refugio 🐾

Palma's remarkable 59-day healing journey touched our hearts in ways we never imagined. Just as we celebrated her recovery, life surprised us on August 19 with the arrival of six precious puppies. This unexpected blessing brings joy, yet a touch of sadness, as we remember the struggles Palma overcame to reach this point.

Now, these little ones need your love and support to start their lives enveloped in warmth and care. We invite you to be part of this heartfelt journey by sponsoring Palma's puppies.
Your generous contribution can provide:

🐶 $35 for castration, offering a healthier future
🍲 $40 for a month of nourishing puppy food
💉 $25 for vital vaccinations

Each gesture of kindness, no matter how small, helps give these puppies a hopeful and joyful start in life. Join us in embracing Palma’s puppies, and let’s create a world filled with love and magic, just as Palma's healing journey was. 💖

Thank you for your heartfelt kindness and unwavering support. 🙏

😍 Super Happy Sunday Smiles Alert! 😍

We're so excited to let you know that three more of our lovies have been chosen! 🥳

😸 Our dashing Luke Skywalker came to us 10 months ago with his two siblings; they were semi-feral kittens being cared for by the kind staff at a local restaurant. We were instantly taken by Luke's handsomeness, naturally bobbed tail, sweetness, and playful, rascally demeanor. He stole the heart of every volunteer in our cattery during his time with us! We are thrilled that you will now enjoy a life full of love and grand adventures in your new galaxy, Luke!

🐶 Sweet-natured Kevin was one of four puppies, from a litter of 10, still waiting for their furever home. Well, this past week he was chosen! Kevin will now have his very own boy to snuggle and play with...a dream come true for this rambunctious and very sweet puppy! We are so happy for you, dear little Kevin!

🐱 Nina and her two siblings were left at our front gate in a cardboard box; they were three very sad and terrified baby kittens. But they landed in the right place! We've been showering them with tons of love and care for almost two months now, and they've each developed into lovely, playful kitties. Nina will now enjoy lots of cuddles and playtime with her new family! Have a pawsome life, sweet little Nina!

🐈🐕 We have many wonderful cats and dogs of all ages, colors, sizes and personalities under our care, just waiting to be chosen. Please visit our website to learn more about each one...and come meet them soon!

😻Happy Caturday!😽 Three Adorables are Still Waiting!

Can you believe that these three adorable kittens are still waiting for their furever homes?

We first introduced Nacho, Nila and Nina to you three weeks ago, so they're a wee bit older and bigger now. But they're still super sweet, playful and gorgeous baby kittens!

Come meet these three soon.
They're ready to purrmanently steal your heart!

🦇 MEETING BATMAN 🦇

THE GOOD: Super friendly, loves every single dog he meets, and has weaponized cuteness.

THE BAD: Has zero interest in fighting crime.

THE UGLY: Will ninja his way directly into your personal space the second you sit down.

At 6 months old, this “Bark Knight” is all love and no angst. He doesn’t want to clean up Gotham-he just wants to chase a tennis ball in your backyard.
DM us to answer his bat-signal! 🐾

🍺🐾 SAVE THE DATE — BARKTOBERFEST IS COMING! 🐾🍺
Did you know, drinking beer can save animals?

On Sunday, October 4, we’re bringing together Pints, Paws & Purrs for one BIG afternoon benefiting El Refugio Hogar Animal Costa Ballena!

📅 Sunday, October 4
⏰ Noon–6 PM
🎟️ FREE ENTRY!

We’ll have TWO amazing venues, Whale Tail Brewery & Gastro Pub and BallenaVibes live music by Movi Dick and Electric Lizards, plus:
🍺 Beer
🍔 Food
🎶 Live music
🎟️ Raffles
🤫 Silent auction
🎯 Games
🏊🏽Pool
🐾 And plenty of reasons to stay for “just one more beer.”

But behind all the fun is something incredibly important. Every day, animals in our area are hungry, frightened, sick, injured, or abandoned. They don’t know what a fundraiser is. They don’t know what a money is. They just know that they need food in their bowl, medicine when they hurt, a safe place to sleep, and someone who cares.

And all of that is costly.

We need this fundraiser. The animals need this fundraiser.

So come have a beer. Buy a raffle ticket. Bid on something you absolutely do not need at the silent auction. 😂 Eat too much. Sing along. Bring your friends. Bring the friend who always says, “I’ll just have one.” We especially need that friend. 🍻😂

Because every dollar raised helps us continue helping animal who desperately needs it.

Mark your calendar, invite your friends, and please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!

🐶 The dogs promise tail wags.
🐱 The cats promise absolutely nothing.
