REMY’S JOURNEY ❤️ One night last year, Remy was dumped at the shelter as a terrified puppy in a box. While her siblings were quickly adopted, Remy stayed behind, overwhelmed by fear and unsure of the world around her.😔🐾❤️

When she moved into foster care, she spent weeks hiding behind the washing machine. The smallest sound or movement would send her running back to safety. Her nervous system was constantly on high alert. ☹️

But even then, Remy showed us who she truly was. She wanted connection. Before she trusted people, she trusted other dogs. She slowly began joining her foster siblings, wagging her tail and finding comfort in their presence.❤️‍🩹

With patience, kindness, and more than a little rotisserie chicken, Remy started to blossom. 🌸

Today, Remy is a different dog. She loves wrestling with her foster siblings, zooming around the yard, exploring the beach, and curling up for cuddles. She has the softest coat, the sweetest soul, and the funniest little mischievous streak. She is gentle, observant, incredibly smart, and endlessly lovable. Oh, and she loves socks 🧦

Remy still has some healing to do and will thrive in a home that understands shy dogs and can continue building her confidence. She would do best with another friendly dog to help show her the way.❤️🐾

WELCOMING TIGRE, our newest senior. At 14 years old, this gentleman prefers the simple things in life: a shady spot, a soft bed, and someone to keep him company.❤️

Tigre is friendly, easygoing, and happiest just hanging out beside his people. Like many seniors, he has a few lumps, bumps, and signs of aging, but he’s currently managing well and enjoying life at his own pace.🐾

If you’ve ever wanted to make a real difference for a dog, Tigre is the kind of soul who will be grateful for every comfortable day, every gentle walk, and every bit of love you give him. ❤️

And with this, we have filled out last available spot, we are officially FULL 🙏🐾❤️‼️

Tigre es amigable, tranquilo y feliz simplemente estando cerca de las personas. Como muchos perritos de su edad, tiene algunas bolitas, achaques y señales propias de los años, pero por ahora se encuentra estable y disfrutando la vida a su propio ritmo. 🐾
Si alguna vez has querido hacer una verdadera diferencia en la vida de un animal, Tigre es de esos perritos que agradecerán cada día cómodo, cada paseo tranquilo y cada muestra de cariño. ❤️ Y con su llegada, hemos ocupado nuestro último espacio disponible. Oficialmente estamos ¡LLENOS! 🙏🐾❤️‼️

Happy Caturday! 😺❤️ Meet Nebula, a beautiful young “ Costarican Tabby Domestic Shorthair” with striking golden eyes and a personality just as beautiful as her looks.

At around 8 months old, Nebula is the perfect age: old enough to be past the tiny kitten chaos, but young enough to bring years of playfulness, adventure, and companionship. Like many tabbies, she’s curious, smart, social, and always interested in what’s happening around her.

She loves attention, enjoys exploring, gets along well with other cats, and has a sweet, affectionate nature that makes people fall for her quickly. Whether she’s chasing toys, lounging in a sunny spot, or keeping you company while you go about your day, Nebula is happiest being part of the action.

Spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her forever home, Nebula is looking for someone to share a lifetime of purrs, cuddles, and adventures. 🐾❤️

Como buena gatita atigrada, es inteligente, sociable y siempre quiere saber qué está pasando a su alrededor.

Le encanta recibir atención, explorar, jugar y compartir con otros gatos. Es de esas compañeras que siempre quieren estar cerca, observando tus actividades, tomando una siesta al sol o acompañándote durante el día.

Rainy Days Got You Down? 🌧️Well, BLANCA is feeling the rainy season blues too and could really use some company.

The shelter is loud, stressful, and no place for a sweet mature lady like her who would much rather be curled up next to you for Netflix and cuddles. And when it’s time for a walk, Blanca’s impeccable leash manners will impress everyone she meets. OH! And she looooves car rides too

Blanca once had a home. When she arrived at our shelter, malnourished and confused we made her a promise: that one day we would find her a family who would love and care for her forever. We love Blanca dearly, but what she needs most is a home, so we want her out of this kennels !

If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a gentle soul, and a best friend to share this rainy season with, Blanca is waiting for you.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off and help support the dogs and cats of Halfway Home Tamarindo.

Enjoy delicious chili, live music, raffles, cold drinks, and a fun afternoon with friends, family, and fellow animal lovers. Every bowl helps provide food, medical care, spay/neuter services, and second chances for animals in need.

( English Below )Números finales! Entre Brasilito y Villarreal logramos esterilizar y castrar a 139 mascotas en un solo fin de semana. Wow!

Eso significa menos camadas no deseadas, menos animales abandonados y miles de vidas que se salvarán del hambre, el abandono y el sufrimiento.

Esto es prevención.Esto es compasión en acción. ESTO ES AMOR! 🐾❤️

Gracias a cada familia que llevó a sus mascotas, a los veterinarios, voluntarios y a todas las personas que apoyaron esta campaña y la hicieron posible. Y un gracias muy especial a nuestros amigos locales que pusieron todo el corazon este fin de semana - Viviana, Mariela y su hija Chelsea,Silvia Bolaños Bridgette, Dania, Susanna y Bonnie Bradshaw 🙏🙏🙏🙏

BRASILITO THANK YOU ❤️We are already getting ready for another campaign tomorrow. Our hearts are happy and so very grateful for 73 pets spayed & neutered in this beautiful community ❤️🐾

A huge thank you to our volunteers Mariela and Chelsea, Susana, Vivianna, Sylvia, Angie and her daughter for giving their time and hearts to help.❤️🐾🙏

Thank you to Café Mar Azul for the delicious lunches. Those burritos were a favorite! ❤️ 🌯

Special thanks to Bonnie Bradshaw for assisting with transport, to Dr. Cavallini for preparing medications & helping wherever needed, and to Oscar, Dr. Christian & Faby for all the surgeries and care provided.

Tomorrow we will be in Villarreal at the facilities of Hospital Veterinario Cavallini, we are FULL but always welcome anyone dropping off cafecito, water to distribute to the families waiting with their pets, and if you want to come with lunch for the volunteers we will love you long time ! 😝
