Honduran white bats 🤍💛🇨🇷
This is a family with five new members. The adults differ from the babies by having yellow ears, nose, and lips. This occurs because they obtain carotenoids called luteina from ficus trees, which are their main source of food.
It is the first known mammal to integrate vegetable carotenoids into its skin.
