CEPIA (Culture, Education and Psychology for Infants and Adolescents) is a Costarican non-profit organization that seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers from low-income families in the coastal communities of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The organization CEPIA offers underprivileged children and teenagers, as well as their families better opportunities through
free cultural, recreational and educational activities, as well as nutritional, medical and psychological support. CEPIA implements educational initiatives such as computer classes, English classes and professional trainings for adults . Over 950 kids take part in after school classes and 112 kids and teens are part of our daily education program at the community center. The organization educates youth about rights, substance abuse and violence, while at the same time providing psychological guidance for children who live in unhealthy or abusive environments. CEPIA creates collaborations with local schools and many organizations and public institutions. The programs of CEPIA are taking place at the CEPIA centre and in 24 communities or villages, aimed at children and teenagers from 3 to 17 years old attending public schools and teenagers not attending school for reasons related to poverty, unhealthy environments and learning disabilities.
