Cerrando el año con la última gira de campo: entregando productos de limpieza biodegradables y capacitando al personal de la Esc Santa Marta de Nosara en su uso adecuado. Sumamente satisfechas de haber probado los productos ecoclean en sitio y comprobar su efectividad! Las ventajas de usar productos biodegradables en vez de los tradicionales desinfectantes, cloro, jabones y desengrasantes son enormes, especialmente para evitar la contaminación de las aguas. Luego impartimos el último taller de capacitación al personal de Harmony Hotel en cuanto a cambio climático. Les contaremos más de este y otros proyectos en 2020.
Closing out the year with our last field trip: substituting traditional cleaning products for biodegradable ones at Santa Marta School! We finished with a climate change training workshop with The Harmony staff. We'll share more news on our projects in 2020!

Hmm 😋a todos se nos antoja una buena hamburguesa de vez en cuando- sabías cuánta agua hay en cada cuarto de libra con queso?! La huella hídrica se refiere a la cantidad de agua que se requiere para producir algo... y es parte de los conceptos que trabajamos con estudiantes durante nuestros talleres de educación ambiental! Se te ocurre algo que no requiera agua para ser producido?! Who doesn't love a good burger? Did you know how much water there is in a quarter pound with cheese?! The water footprint refers to the amount of water it takes to produce something- it is one of the concepts we teach students during our environmental education workshops! Can you think of something that doesn't need water to be produced?!

English ⬇️Transformar una escuela en un modelo "Eco" para que tenga un uso energético eficiente... no es sexy. Pero es indispensable. La seguridad de la instalación eléctrica es el primer paso. Aquí un antes-después de las mejoras a la Escuela de Santa Marta en Nosara. Cableado entubado, identificado y seguro. Transforming a school to an "eco" model to be energy efficient, well it isn't sexy. But we can't think of something more necessary. Here some before-after of the improvements at the Santa Marta School in Nosara. Gracias Harmony Hotel Hotel Boutique Lagarta Lodge for lodging, feeding, transporting and supporting our team to make this happen!

English below. Hace unos días capacitamos al personal de nuestro aliado Arenas Del Mar Manuel Antonio Luxury Beachfront Resort en cuanto a la problemática e importancia del manejo de los residuos. Aprendimos sobre el tiempo que duran los materiales para degradarse y a reflexionar sobre nuestras decisiones de compra y desecho. Aquí cada departamento con sus compromisos de mejora.
A few weeks ago we had a training workshop with Arenas del Mar staff. We learned about waste management issues, how long it takes different materials to degrade and how each of us can help. Here each department team with their commitments towards proper waste management!
