Some moments are too amazing to keep to ourselves 🌝

We’ll be sharing more from this conservation journey in the days ahead, but we couldn’t wait to share a glimpse of what our Dream Charter High School group experienced just two nights ago!

As night fell on Corozalito Beach, the shoreline came alive. One by one, then hundreds together, olive ridley sea turtles emerged from the Pacific in an ancient ritual.

This phenomenon, known as an arribada—meaning “arrival” in Spanish—is one of the world’s most breathtaking wildlife events. During an arribada, hundreds or even thousands of female olive ridley turtles come ashore over a few nights to nest, guided by instincts that amaze scientists and inspire everyone fortunate enough to witness it. While Costa Rica’s arribadas are often associated with Ostional, Corozalito is also home to this natural event, and we happened to be there at exactly the right moment. ✨

But what made this experience more meaningful wasn’t just seeing the mama turtles—it was learning how to be present without disturbing them - in harmony. 🎶

Every moment was carried out under the guidance and conservation protocols established by CREMA Costa Rica & Turtle Trax S.A. Respecting local regulations, protecting the turtles, and putting conservation before observation are the reasons experiences like this can continue for generations to come. 💚🐢🌊

Last week at this time, we were wrapping up two unforgettable weeks in Peru. 🇵🇪

At Alma, we intentionally keep our groups small (6-16) because we believe meaningful travel happens through meaningful connections. Every group becomes its own little community. This trip was even smaller than usual, with just five travelers. While that wasn’t what we originally expected, it turned into something so special.

We had the gift of slowing down, sharing more conversations, more laughs, more meals, and more moments together. Somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like a tour and started feeling like family.

To Heather, Michelle, Katia, Jessica, and Kathy: thank you for trusting Alma with your adventure. Thank you for your openness & your kindness. The journey has ended but you’re always part of the Alma family. We can’t wait until our paths cross again. 🌿

Registration for our November–December 2027 Camino de Costa Rica adventure opens on Saturday, August 15th! 🎉🇨🇷 21 Day / 20 Night Tour

We’ll be trekking 280 kilometers over 16 days, crossing Costa Rica from one ocean to the other. But this journey is about so much more than the miles.

We’ll train together leading up to the trek, keep each other accountable, encourage one another every step of the way, and begin and end our adventure with a little well-deserved R&R.

This is a 3-week, all-inclusive experience for $5,490, designed so you can focus on the adventure, the friendships, and the incredible journey ahead.
