En la Escuela La Joya, en Desamparados, Costa Rica, el respeto y cuidado de la comunidad de la vida es la manera en que se vive cada día 🌎💙.

Esta escuela rural se convirtió en la primera en completar dos veces la certificación del Sello Escuela Carta de la Tierra 🌿. Volver a evaluarse fue un ejercicio de reflexión: una oportunidad para alinear con mayor intención sus programas y su pedagogía con los principios de la Carta de la Tierra.

Aquí, la huerta alimenta el comedor escolar, las semillas viajan a los hogares, las llantas recicladas sostienen la ladera y el aprendizaje empieza por la empatía hacia la naturaleza y las demás personas. Un recordatorio de que la transformación hacia un modo de vida sostenible comienza en lo local y se conecta con lo global.

This year's International Youth Day theme is "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations." Young people grow up in very different realities, yet they share the same hopes: dignity, education, a voice, and a future worth inheriting 🌱

Since the very beginning, young hands have carried the Earth Charter forward, and they carry it still. Today we celebrate every young person building change in their own corner of the world 🩵

We successfully concluded the 9th edition of the Online Certificate on Education for Sustainable Development with the Earth Charter, with 88 educators from 15 countries representing primary, secondary, higher education, and non-formal sectors 🌍 . Participants completed the six-month programme with final action projects, reinforcing our belief that learning by doing is essential for transformative education.

We are grateful to all the course facilitators and participants for your rich contributions in making this a unique and culturally diverse learning experience. We hope you will continue to create many positive ripple effects in your respective contexts and remain actively engaged in the Earth Charter global community.
