Finca Tierra Permaculture

Finca Tierra Permaculture Education center offering Permaculture Design Courses focused on Tropical Vegetable Gardens and Tropical Food Forests

Live with nature in the rainforest while dining on meals of fresh organic foods served to you from our permaculture farm kitchen. Finca Tierra is a special place for travelers who want to explore sustainable living, reconnect with nature and eat off the land while on vacation. We’re located near Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, a lush Caribbean beach-rimmed jungle community, and are close to the fabulous tree-lined sand beaches south of Puerto Viejo. Our farm practices are guided by permaculture principles and our tourist program combines elements of educational farms and destination lodges, creating what we hope is one of the most original and innovative weeklong vacation options available for travelers today! We’re 100% solar powered, totally off the grid, and harvest both rainwater and natural spring water. Our organic gardens and food forest supply almost all of the ingredients used in our farm kitchen. As a Farm Stay guest, three Caribbean farm-to-table meals will be served to you daily, from Sunday dinner through Saturday lunch. Our buildings are constructed with natural materials that we harvest and fabricate onsite and, like all of our other farm practices, adhere to the standards of permaculture design.

We’re holding an Emmy🏆 in our hands… but even more powerful is the reason why✨
Yesterday, the incredible journalist , who created the award-winning documentary featuring Finca Tierra, returned to Costa Rica, and gave us her Emmy! 💛
She said this wasn’t about her. That it was about passing the light to those who inspire change. And she told us: “This belongs to you.” 🥹🥂
To receive such a powerful symbol from someone we admire so deeply fills us with gratitude. It reminds us that the seeds we plant do matter. That Earth-centered living, education, and community are worth fighting for.
From the depths of our hearts, thank you, Myriam. We’ll honor this gift the best way we know how: by living what we teach and teaching what we live, rooted in Earth, shared with all!🌿✨
