About El Nido
The concept of El Nido or The Nest is to provide a 'soft landing' for life explorers in search of experiencing a new way of living and being in Costa Rica. It is a place of sharing and connection from first time visitors to Costa Rica, through to long-time locals who have seen the land and community evolve. It is a place of learning and unlearning about what is true
Life does not happen in a bubble. The Nest is not an isolated retreatcentre where you live temporarily in a rosy, haze only to be ejected back into the real world when the retreat ends. Living in central Ojochal means you live among and connect with other local residents. Indeed it is for you to have the conversations and make the contacts to discover and pursue your own unique path.
Nothing is permanent and no-one will live or stay forever. In The Nest we make meaning of our lives, living intentionally and gently on the earth, and in so doing we feel a deeper connection with ourselves and others. When the time is right, it is a place from which explorers can take flight, continuing on with fresh ideas, insights and connections.
Creativity and the willingness to experiment is core to our ethos. There is no right or wrong and there are no absolutes (no siths here!) This reflects the importance of open dialogue and inclusivity that we encourage within the community. Come as you are. Accept others as they are. By opening our hearts we can co-create previously unimagined realities.
