Yacumama is an eco village & retreat space in Ojochal, Costa Rica on nearly 100 acres of pristine land with abundant wildlife, permaculture gardens, a river, creek, epic ocean & mountain views.

Starting the day with yoga in our Tortuga Temple with Luna

Even after the hundredth time this vista takes your breath away.

Infinite gratitude for the life giving healing waters of the river. 🙏🏽

And the incredible creatures like this blue river shrimp.

The lapas or Scarlett macaws mate for life. We have a few couples that live on the land and migrate to the ocean every day to eat these almendras. This was taken at on of our favorite beaches just 15 minutes away.

Sacred Leadership Immersion with Benki Piyako this October 🔥♥️🌱

It is a profound honor to host such a master teacher and world leader at Yacumama Ecovillage

He is a globally recognized political and spiritual leader of the Ashánunka people. He has lead a movement of reforestation and community development. Since the 1990s, Benke has collaborated with various organizations to restore degraded areas.

His work has inspired individuals and groups to strengthen their communities and build projects to protect the environment as a whole.

He will be accompanied by his family and we feel it could not be a better time for the gift of their presence on this land while we are focusing intently on community and permaculture.

You are invited to a profound journey of knowing one’s self on a deeper level through sacred ceremony, ancestral wisdom traditions, embodiment and self enquiry practices. 🪶

This immersion is an opportunity to connect to nature and the stillness within.

From that place of stillness, new forms of leadership can emerge in a world desperately needing it.

Everything for our children 🌈

Last weekend, Yacumama invited the local families to our first Community Day!

As we enter into a new cycle with the living prayer and project that is Yacumama Ecovillage , we felt the importance of really uplifting the next generation as a pillar for the culture we wish to create.

We were blessed to have a dozen tiny teachers show up and we shared in planting, playing, eating and exploring nature together.

By the end of the day, everyone was wiped out yet our hearts were overflowing!

Looking forward to opening the land each week for the next two months to deepen the bonds with our local community.
